Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy finale will receive “revamped” Queen’s Blood card game

The director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Naoki Hamaguchi, has announced that the beloved card game, Queen’s Blood, will be revamped for the third installment of the remake trilogy. This exciting news came during a panel at the Otacon anime convention in the United States, where fans had the opportunity to engage with producers and voice actors from the game.

When a fan inquired about the possibility of bringing the card game to real life, Hamaguchi responded enthusiastically, saying, “Actually I’ve been receiving so many requests. Right now we are preparing a revamped or even better version of Queen’s Blood for the next title of this series. So I hope to be able to share more in the near future.”

Throughout the panel, the producers and voice actors shared their favorite minigames from Rebirth, with Queen’s Blood frequently mentioned as a standout choice. Its popularity among fans is a testament to its engaging gameplay and the anticipation surrounding its return.

Queen’s Blood is a new card game designed specifically for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, aiming to rival classic minigames like Triple Triad and Tetra Master from earlier installments. While the original Final Fantasy 7 did not feature a card game, Square Enix has introduced numerous new minigames in the remake, enhancing the overall experience.

Details about the third installment remain scarce, but it’s expected that players will be able to explore a vast open world, with Rocket Town making an appearance after being absent from the second part. In the recently released Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania book, creative director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that the story for the third chapter is complete and hinted at “something very important” that will not be found in the original game.

Additionally, series composer Nobuo Uematsu is set to return, bringing a new main theme to the game, further heightening excitement among fans.
