Square Enix releases Final Fantasy 7 Buster Sword for pets

Square Enix has recently unveiled an exciting new merchandise shop dedicated to pets in Japan, showcasing designs inspired by beloved franchises such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts. This initiative, known as Squex Pets, promises to bring a touch of gaming magic to pet owners.

Notably, Tetsuya Nomura, renowned for his contributions to Final Fantasy 7 and the Kingdom Hearts series, is overseeing the creation of these unique items. The collection features an array of products, including themed leashes and bandanas, as well as a pet bed designed to resemble the iconic Dragon Quest slime. Among the offerings, the Buster Sword toy stands out, albeit with a shape that might not be conventionally sword-like but is undeniably charming.

Another adorable highlight from the collection is the Sora dogwear, although there has yet to be a Keyblade toy to complete the ensemble. Additionally, Nomura has created an endearing new logo featuring Red XIII and Cait Sith from Final Fantasy 7 specifically for this merchandise line.

The official Square Enix account has shared additional product details, including images from the Interpet show currently taking place in Tokyo. This product line is said to feature items like scratching posts and a Moogle bed, further expanding the offerings for pet lovers.

Unfortunately, the store is currently limited to Japan, and all products are listed as under development and coming soon. Fans are already expressing a strong desire for these items to be available globally.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which was released at the end of February, has received widespread acclaim, being described as a “lovable re-imagining.” The series’ composer has even expressed an interest in writing a new theme song for the upcoming finale of the remake trilogy.
