How to get Sanctifying Elixir in Genshin Impact

Sanctifying Elixir is a rare and valuable item in Genshin Impact that is essential for creating custom Artifacts. Equipping high-quality Artifacts is crucial for optimizing character builds, especially for endgame content like the Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theatre. Therefore, collecting Sanctifying Elixirs is highly beneficial for players aiming to enhance their gameplay experience.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to obtain Sanctifying Elixir in Genshin Impact and how to utilize it, as the process can be a bit intricate at first.

How to Get Sanctifying Elixir in Genshin Impact

There are several methods to acquire Sanctifying Elixir:

  • Utilize the Artifact Transmuter gadget to earn 100 Extraction points from 5-Star Artifacts that have been enhanced to at least ‘+4’.
  • Unlock the secret area of each Natlan tribe.
  • Purchase the premium Battle Pass (Gnostic Hymn).

You can obtain one Sanctifying Elixir from Level 26 of the premium Battle Pass. Since there is only one Battle Pass available per version of Genshin Impact, you can earn one Sanctifying Elixir every six weeks through this method.

Using the Artifact Transmuter

The Artifact Transmuter can be found in the ‘Gadgets’ section of your Inventory menu. Select it and click the ‘Use’ button, then navigate to the ‘Artifact Extraction’ menu. Here, you will see all your 5-Star Artifacts that are enhanced to at least +4 (and not currently equipped to a character) on the left side. The right side displays your progress towards creating Sanctifying Elixir.

To create one Sanctifying Elixir, you need 100 Extraction progress points, and you can only produce one Sanctifying Elixir per version. For instance, if you create one in version 5.0, you must wait until version 5.1 to use another 100 Extraction points for another Sanctifying Elixir.

The number of Extraction points you receive depends on the enhancement level of your 5-Star Artifacts:

  • Level 4 to 11 Artifacts – Extraction points equal to Artifact Level
  • Level 12 to 15 Artifacts – Extraction points equal to Artifact Level + 2
  • Level 16 to 19 Artifacts – Extraction points equal to Artifact Level + 6
  • Level 20 Artifacts – 30 Extraction points

While higher-level Artifacts yield more Extraction points, using lower-level Artifacts is often more efficient unless you have no intention of utilizing a spare Level 20 5-Star Artifact for other purposes.

Unlocking the Secret Area of Each Natlan Tribe

You can randomly acquire Obsidian Fragments while opening chests in Natlan. These fragments can be combined to create an Obsidian Ring, which is necessary for lowering the barrier and entering the hidden areas of each tribe. There is one Sanctifying Elixir located in each secret tribe area.

Obsidian Fragments can only be found in precious and luxurious chests, so it’s advisable to prioritize these types of chests instead of searching through all the ordinary ones in Natlan.

Note that the type of Obsidian Fragment you receive may vary depending on your location when opening the chests. For example, opening precious and luxurious chests near the Children of Echoes settlement is more likely to yield the Obsidian Fragments needed for that tribe’s Yellow Obsidian Ring.

What is Sanctifying Elixir?

Sanctifying Elixir is a crucial material needed to create Artifacts with your desired main stat and up to two preferred sub stats in Genshin Impact. Given that optimal Artifact stats are essential for top-tier character builds, having Sanctifying Elixir is incredibly advantageous.

How to Use Sanctifying Elixir

To utilize Sanctifying Elixir, go to the ‘Gadgets’ section of your Inventory and locate the Artifact Transmuter, which appears as a typewriter icon on a purple background. Click ‘Use’ to access the Artifact Definition menu, where you can employ your Sanctifying Elixir to craft custom Artifacts with your chosen main stat and up to two custom sub stats. The amount of Sanctifying Elixir required depends on the specific Artifact piece you want to create.

Here’s a breakdown of how much Sanctifying Elixir is needed for each Artifact piece:

  • Flower of Life – x1 Sanctifying Elixir
  • Plume of Death – x1 Sanctifying Elixir
  • Sands of Eon – x2 Sanctifying Elixir
  • Circlet of Logos – x3 Sanctifying Elixir
  • Goblet of Eonothem – x4 Sanctifying Elixir

The Flower and Plume pieces only require one Sanctifying Elixir because you cannot select a main stat for them; their main stats are fixed at HP and ATK, respectively.

Finally, remember that the same set of Artifacts can only be exchanged once per version.

Good luck enhancing your Artifacts!
