A Slicing Kit in Star Wars Outlaws is essential for hacking into devices across the various planets you will explore. This tool is crucial for gathering information, accessing restricted areas, and controlling specific objects. However, acquiring this kit isn’t as simple as buying it from a vendor; you’ll need to complete a series of quests and gather intel before you can obtain it.

In this guide, we will detail the steps on how to get a Slicing Kit in Star Wars Outlaws and how to upgrade the Slicing Kit.

How to get a Slicing Kit in Star Wars Outlaws

To obtain the Slicing Kit, you need to progress through the main storyline and complete the ‘New Tricks’ quest. This quest becomes available after you finish the ‘Underworld’ mission, where you must disable the power cores to pass through an energy barrier. It’s during this mission that you meet Danka and unlock the concept of Reputation.

Completing the ‘Underworld’ mission will unlock the ‘The Slicer’ expert intel, which you can track in your journal.

The Slicer Intel

To begin following this intel, travel to Makal’s Gambling Parlor in Mirogana. Look for an unoccupied side of the bar and listen for two patrons having a conversation.

After eavesdropping, you’ll unlock the ‘Aila’s Contact’ expert intel.

Aila’s Contact Intel

Next, head to the Crimson Dawn District in northern Mirogana. If your reputation with the Syndicate is ‘Good,’ you can enter through the main entrance without issues. Otherwise, you will need to sneak in. Despite having a good reputation, you’ll still need to find a stealthy way onto the landing pad where Aila’s contact is located. Approach the guards at the entrance and navigate to the right side to find a stack of crates that will help you climb up to the landing pad.

Once you’ve reached the pad, stealthily approach Aila’s contact in the center.

After your conversation, the quest ‘The Slicer’ will unlock, which you must complete to acquire the kit.

The Slicer Quest

Your first task in this quest is to visit an Imperial Outpost located southwest of Mirogana. Use stealth to navigate past the Imperials, and once inside, use Nix to pickpocket the Slicing Kit from one of the engineers found working in the rear of the outpost.

After obtaining the kit, head southeast to an Imperial Forward base to meet Aila. You will need to infiltrate the base to rescue her, so prepare for more stealth gameplay. Look for a slight incline to the left of the main entrance, which leads to a cave. Use your grapple to swing over to this cave and proceed through the vents to access the base undetected.

Once inside, avoid or quietly eliminate any enemies while following the quest marker to reach the garage where Aila is held. After freeing Aila, she’ll seal the doors, and you must head to the back room to meet the legendary Slicer.

After your meeting, exit through the vent and climb the ladder outside to reach the roof. Here, attach the device to the antenna, but watch out for roaming Stormtroopers.

Once secured, you will need to disable the anti-air defenses via the control tower. Move right from the antenna and jump across to the adjacent rooftop, then continue stealthily or with combat to the control room.

Inside, rappel down to the lower level and deal with any enemies, then interact with the terminal to unlock the security door. After that, use the turbolift to access the control room, where you will need to hack the computer to disable the defenses.

Once completed, make your way out of the compound and return to Makal’s Gambling Parlor in Mirogana. Follow the quest marker to find Aila’s contact leaning against the wall inside the small room opposite the bar, where you can finally claim your Slicing Kit!

How to upgrade the Slicing Kit in Star Wars Outlaws

Once you possess the Slicing Kit, you can enhance it by accessing the ‘Abilities’ tab in your main pause menu, where you will see options like Reputation and Map.

Select Aila from this menu to bring up another screen. The upgrade for the Slicing Kit can be found at the end of the list. Hover over it to view the requirements for unlocking the upgrade.
