GO Big event research tasks and bonuses in Pokémon Go

The GO Big event marks an exciting time in Pokémon Go, celebrating the introduction of Max Battles. This allows players to start building a robust collection of Dynamax Pokémon!

Recently, the game introduced Dynamax-related mechanics, including Power Spots where players can gather Max Particles, and the ‘To the Max!‘ quest that provides the opportunity to earn your first Dynamax Pokémon. With the GO Big event, players can now put their Dynamax Pokémon to the test against one-star bosses in Max Battles.

In addition to these battles, players can complete event-exclusive research tasks and new quest steps associated with the Galar Calling event.

GO Big Field Research Tasks

During the GO Big event, players can collect exclusive research tasks by spinning PokéStops. These tasks can be stored in your field research and completed later if desired.

It’s important to note that the Pokémon encounters from these tasks will feature regular Pokémon, while Dynamax Pokémon can only be earned via the ‘To the Max!‘ quest and Max Battles. Here are the research tasks available during the GO Big event:

• Collect MP from a Power Spot reward – Encounter with Skwovet or Wooloo
• Collect MP from 3 Power Spots reward – Encounter with Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle
• Collect 100 Max Particles reward – 500 Stardust, 2 Revives, and 2 Super Potions
• Collect 400 Max Particles reward – Encounter with Skwovet or Wooloo
• Win a Max Battle reward – Encounter with Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle

Event Bonuses and Details

The GO Big event runs until September 15th at 8 PM local time, featuring two significant bonuses. Players will earn double XP from spinning PokéStops and double XP for winning Max Battles.

This event is particularly special as it marks the debut of Max Battles in Pokémon Go. Players can engage in battles against Dynamax Pokémon at Power Spots. Winning these battles allows you to capture them and later evolve them, retaining their Dynamax abilities. Remember to complete at least the first step of the ‘To the Max!‘ quest to receive a Dynamax Wooloo, essential for starting your Dynamax Pokémon collection.

Players can find the following Pokémon in one-star Max Battles:

• Bulbasaur
• Charmander
• Squirtle
• Skwovet
• Wooloo

These Pokémon can be evolved while retaining their Dynamax ability, and there’s a possibility of encountering shiny versions of them. Dynamax Wooloo and Skwovet are rewards from the ‘To the Max!’ quest, making it beneficial to focus on Max Battles featuring the Gen 1 starter Pokémon.

New Quest Steps and Additional Features

The GO Big event also introduces a new section of the Galar Calling quest, so players should prepare for new tasks. Staying updated on this quest is crucial to avoid falling behind.
