This quest is exclusively for ticketed players during the event. Once you’ve purchased your ticket, ensure you play Pokémon Go at least once during the event hours to unlock the quest. If it doesn’t unlock automatically, try restarting the game. You can complete the quest without a time limit after it’s been activated.

Players attending the in-person Go Fest events should note that they will not receive a second Marshadow encounter but will instead be rewarded with additional Marshadow Candy.

• Complete 3 Field Research tasks – Reward: Ducklett encounter
• Use 5 Berries to help catch Pokémon – Reward: 2 Incubators
• Catch 10 different species of Pokémon – Reward: Dunsparce encounter

Rewards: 2024 XP, 2024 Stardust, and two Poffins.

• Hatch 2 Eggs – Reward: 24 Great Balls
• Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms – Reward: Emolga encounter
• Earn 2 Candies walking with your buddy – Reward: Crabrawler encounter

• Catch 10 Pokémon – Reward: 2 Star Pieces
• Evolve 5 Pokémon – Reward: 2 Silver Pinap Berries
• Earn 8,020 Stardust – Reward: Corsola encounter

• Power up Fighting-type Pokémon 10 times – Reward: 2 Lucky Eggs

Rewards: 2024 Stardust, Marshadow encounter, and Marshadow T-Shirt. Players who already have Marshadow and the T-Shirt will receive 50 Marshadow Candy instead.

How Does Go Fest 2024: A Shadowy Caper Work?

Go Fest 2024: A Shadowy Caper is a Special Research quest available only to those who purchased a ticket. This quest marks the worldwide release of Marshadow, a Fighting and Ghost-type mythical Pokémon from Generation 7. Previously, Marshadow was only accessible during in-person Go Fest events.

The event runs on both days from 10am to 6pm (local time). To efficiently complete the quest, it’s advisable to unlock it on Saturday. This allows you to focus on the second Special Research quest themed around another Pokémon, which will be released on Sunday.

Players who attended any in-person Go Fest events will not receive an additional Marshadow encounter but will get extra Marshadow Candy, useful for powering up the Pokémon.

While this quest requires a purchase, Marshadow will eventually be available in a free Special Research quest, similar to past mythical Pokémon. However, this will likely take some time to be released.
