Pokémon Go Aquatic Paradise Collection Challenge research tasks and rewards

Aquatic Paradise is an exciting event in Pokémon Go that invites players to dive into a weekend filled with fun and adventure. This tie-in event allows trainers to engage in event-exclusive research tasks and participate in the Aquatic Paradise Collection Challenge. Players can also benefit from a double catch XP bonus during this event.

A highlight of Aquatic Paradise is the introduction of the shiny Ducklett, adding a new collectible for trainers to pursue!

Aquatic Paradise Collection Challenge Pokémon List

The Aquatic Paradise Collection Challenge is available in Pokémon Go and runs until July 9th at 8pm (local time). Completing this challenge will reward players with various prizes and contribute to their Elite Collector Medal. Be mindful, as failing to finish the challenge by the deadline means the rewards will be lost.

Here’s the list of Pokémon featured in the Aquatic Paradise Collection Challenge, along with tips on how to find them:

  • Wingull – Can be found in the wild or through seasonal research tasks (Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
  • Staryu – Available in the wild
  • Horsea – Also found in the wild
  • Shellder – Encounter via Incense
  • Ducklett – Can be caught in the wild
  • Frillish – Available in the wild, through Incense, or via event-exclusive research tasks (Catch a Ducklett)
  • Corphish – Found in the wild or through event-exclusive research tasks (Catch a Ducklett)
  • Clamperl – Can be caught in the wild, through event-exclusive research tasks (Explore 3km), or seasonal research tasks (Catch 15 different species of Pokémon or Make 3 Great Throws)

Completing this challenge earns you 5000 XP, an Incense, or a Ducklett encounter.

Aquatic Paradise Field Research Tasks

During the Aquatic Paradise event, spinning a PokéStop can yield event-exclusive research tasks. These tasks can be saved for later, but it’s advisable to complete them during the event to aid in finishing the Collection Challenge.

Here’s a list of the Aquatic Paradise field research tasks available:

  • Catch 5 Water-type Pokémon – Reward: 500 Stardust or 5 Great Balls
  • Catch a Ducklett – Reward: Corphish, Finneon, or Frillish encounter
  • Explore 1 km – Reward: 1 Rare Candy
  • Explore 3km – Reward: Clamperl encounter

Additional Details About Aquatic Paradise

The Aquatic Paradise event is set to continue until July 9th at 8pm (local time). During this period, players can enjoy two significant bonuses: an enhanced chance of encountering Pokémon using Incense and the much-anticipated double catch XP.

This event also marks the debut of shiny Ducklett and its evolution, shiny Swanna, in Pokémon Go. Trainers looking to expand their shiny collection should keep an eye out for these new variants!

Throughout the event, a variety of Water-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild:

  • Horsea
  • Staryu
  • Wingull
  • Corphish
  • Clamperl
  • Ducklett
  • Frillish

Using Incense will also attract the following Pokémon:

  • Shellder
  • Lapras
  • Finneon
  • Frillish

Additionally, Aquatic Paradise features a paid timed research quest, which offers Ducklett encounters and four Lucky Eggs for $1.99 or the equivalent in local currency. This quest is non-refundable and cannot be purchased using PokéCoins, but can be gifted to players who are Great Friends or higher. Remember, this quest must be completed before July 9th at 8pm (local time).
