How Whispers in the Woods Works

Whispers in the Woods is available during the 8th Anniversary Party, with tickets costing $5 or the equivalent in local currency. Ensure you purchase this quest before the deadline, as missing out means you will have to wait for another opportunity to catch shiny Celebi.

After purchasing, you must unlock the quest by playing Pokémon Go at least once. The quest should start automatically upon purchase; if it doesn’t, try restarting the app until it appears.

Players who have already completed Distracted by Something Shiny will not be able to purchase Whispers in the Woods. However, both groups of players will enjoy additional bonuses during the 8th Anniversary Party, such as double Incense duration and double Lucky Egg duration.

As a Masterwork Research quest, Whispers in the Woods is intentionally designed to take a considerable amount of time to complete. It is structured in steps, each with specific challenges and rewards. Progress is made by completing these challenges to ultimately reach the shiny Celebi.
