‘Scorching Steps Timed Research’ Quest Steps

The Scorching Steps timed research quest runs for a limited time. Players need to complete the quest before the deadline to claim all associated rewards. The quest functions similarly to previous Pokémon Go quests.

• Hatch an Egg – Encounter Slugma
• Hatch 2 Eggs – Encounter Litleo

Upon completing this research, trainers will receive 2000 XP, 1500 Stardust, and an encounter with Turtonator.

Spinning PokéStops during the Scorching Steps event may yield event-exclusive research tasks. These tasks can be saved for completion after the event concludes.

Everything We Know About Scorching Steps

The Scorching Steps event introduces several bonuses. Trainers can enjoy double hatch candy, and the first three eggs placed in Incubators will have their hatch distance reduced by 1/4. After these initial three eggs, any egg placed in an Incubator during Scorching Steps will have its hatch distance halved, making it easier to hatch those 10km and 12km eggs.

The event also increases the chances of encountering shiny Pokémon, specifically shiny Slugma and shiny Litleo.

Additionally, Scorching Steps marks the release of shiny Larvesta. If trainers have enough Larvesta candy, they can evolve it into a shiny Volcarona. Throughout the event, any 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs collected will feature a Fire-type themed egg pool, with unique Pokémon available in each category.

Thanks to the hatch distance bonuses, trainers can work through many eggs, increasing their chances of adding Larvesta to their collection. The event will also include various activities such as PokéStop Showcases.
