Pokémon Go Along the Routes quest step, rewards and field research tasks

The Along the Routes event celebrates the Routes feature in Pokémon Go, introducing a new update called Gift Exchange. During this event, players can complete the Along the Routes timed research quest and tackle event-exclusive field research tasks. For the first time, players may even encounter a shiny Hisuian Sneasel.

A new Special Research quest, A Route to New Friendships, is also available, serving as an introduction to the Gift Exchange feature in the game.

‘Along the Routes’ Quest Step in Pokémon Go

The Along the Routes is a timed research quest that runs until Friday 8th December at 8pm (local time). To earn all the rewards from this quest, players must complete it by the deadline, or else the rewards will be lost.

This quest centers around the Routes feature, so completing it requires utilizing this functionality. Below are the steps and rewards associated with the Along the Routes quest.

‘Along the Routes’ Step 1 of 1

• Explore 1km – Wooloo
• Send a Gift to a friend – 5 Pinap Berries
• Explore 2km – Pawmi
• Explore 5km – Feebas
• Send 3 Gifts to friends – 1 Incense
• Explore 7km – Hisuian Sneasel

Rewards: 1500 XP, 1500 Stardust, and an encounter with Hisuian Sneasel.

Along the Routes Field Research Tasks in Pokémon Go

Event-exclusive field research tasks can be acquired by spinning PokéStops during the Along the Routes event. These tasks can be saved in your field research collection and completed after the event if desired.

Here are the Along the Routes field research tasks:

• Hatch an Egg reward – Wooloo encounter
• Earn a Candy walking your Buddy reward – 5 Great Balls
• Send a Gift to a friend reward – 5 Poké Balls
• Send 3 Gifts and add a sticker to each reward – Eevee encounter
• Trade a Pokémon reward – Hisuian Sneasel encounter

Everything You Need to Know About the Along the Routes Event in Pokémon Go

The Along the Routes event introduces the Gift Exchange feature to Routes in Pokémon Go, allowing players to exchange Gifts with others worldwide each time they complete a Route. This event also features Mateo, a new character making his debut in the game, and provides opportunities to collect new Vivillon patterns.

The Special Research quest A Route to New Friendships has been introduced alongside the Gift Exchange feature.

Throughout the event, players can take advantage of several bonuses. Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will have half the hatch distance. Players will also earn double Stardust from opening Gifts and triple XP from spinning PokéStops, which increases to five times XP for first-time spins.

Additionally, the event marks the release of shiny forms for both Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler.

Throughout the event, the following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild:

• Feebas
• Lillipup
• Woobat
• Emolga
• Wooloo
• Pawmi

Any 7km eggs collected via Gifts during Along the Routes will have the following pool:

• Espurr

Finally, players can enter both Sneasel and Hisuian Sneasel in PokéStop Showcases during the Along the Routes event.
