Legendary Heroes celebrates Zacian, a legendary Pokémon from Gen 8, and introduces the opportunity to catch a shiny Zacian in Pokémon Go.

The primary feature of the Legendary Heroes event is the Legendary Heroes Timed Research quest. This quest is branching, so it’s crucial to know the best path choice to maximize your rewards. Your decision will determine the Legendary Heroes Collection Challenges – either Sword or Shield – as well as the Incense encounters you will experience during this event.

In addition to completing Collection Challenges, players can enjoy a range of event-exclusive research tasks and bonuses!

Sword Path Catch Collection Challenge Pokémon List

The Sword Path Catch is one of the Collection Challenges available for players who choose the Sword path during the Legendary Heroes Timed Research quest. This challenge must be completed by catching the Pokémon listed below:

• Galarian Darumaka – In the wild
• Swirlix – Incense encounter
• Gothita – Incense encounter or seasonal field research task (Make 10 Nice Throws)
• Seedot – Incense encounter
• Scraggy – Incense encounter or Research Breakthrough
• Grookey – In the wild
• Scorbunny – In the wild
• Sobble – In the wild

Completing this challenge will reward players with 1000 XP and a Skwovet encounter.

Sword Path Trade Collection Challenge Pokémon List

The Sword Path Trade Collection Challenge is the second challenge for those who choose the Sword path. All Pokémon must be obtained through trading with another player:

• Spritzee – Trade
• Solosis – Trade
• Lotad – Trade
• Croagunk – Trade

Completing this challenge awards 5000 XP and a Larvitar encounter.

Shield Path Catch Collection Challenge Pokémon List

The Shield Path Catch Collection Challenge is available for players who select the Shield path during the Legendary Heroes Timed Research quest. Players must catch the following Pokémon:

• Galarian Ponyta – In the wild
• Spritzee – Incense encounter
• Solosis – Incense encounter or seasonal field research task (Make 10 Nice Throws)
• Lotad – Incense encounter
• Croagunk – Incense encounter or seasonal field research task (Take a snapshot of a wild Pokémon)
• Grookey – In the wild
• Scorbunny – In the wild
• Sobble – In the wild

Completing this challenge will reward players with 1000 XP and a Skwovet encounter.

Shield Path Trade Collection Challenge Pokémon List

The Shield Path Trade Collection Challenge is the second challenge available for players who choose the Shield path. All Pokémon must be obtained through trading:

• Swirlix – Trade
• Gothita – Trade
• Seedot – Trade
• Scraggy – Trade

Completing this challenge will yield 5000 XP and a Deino encounter.

Legendary Heroes Field Research Tasks

During the Legendary Heroes event, players can earn event-exclusive field research tasks by spinning PokéStops. Here are the available tasks:

• Catch 8 Pokémon – Reward: Galarian Slowpoke encounter
• Use an Incense – Reward: 1500 Stardust or 3 Rare Candies
• Trade a Pokémon – Reward: 1 Rare Candy

Overview of the Legendary Heroes Event

The Legendary Heroes event features two bonuses: a 50% reduction in the Stardust cost for Special Trades and the ability for Koffing to evolve into Galarian Weezing. Players can also complete the Legendary Heroes Timed Research quest, which affects the rewards, Collection Challenges, and Incense encounters during the event.

This event marks the debut of shiny Zacian in Pokémon Go, appearing in five-star raids. The raid lineup includes:

Choosing the Sword Path will influence the Incense encounters, which include Seedot, Scraggy, Gothita, Deino, Swirlix, and Passimian. Meanwhile, the Shield Path will yield encounters with Larvitar, Lotad, Croagunk, Solosis, Spritzee, and Oranguru.
