How to get bombs in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom quickly?

In many past games of the series, bombs have been a highly useful item in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. They can be used to break cracked walls and open up new paths, as well as to uncover various collectibles. Not to mention, they are also great for dealing damage to enemies you encounter during your journey.

In this installment featuring Zelda, however, bombs are initially a bit different from the ones seen in previous games starring Link. In this guide, we will explain how to quickly unlock bombs so you can access them almost right at the start of the game. Pay attention!

How to Unlock Bombs in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

At the beginning of your adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you will not have access to regular bombs in any way. In this game, they cannot be purchased in shops, nor can they be found lying around or inside chests.

However, there is a specific type of monster that explodes like a bomb, allowing you to achieve the same results you would expect from a traditional bomb.

This monster is known as the bomb fish, an enemy that you can memorize with the Tri Scepter to create as many replicas as you want, which explode after a few seconds. Although it is a type of fish, it can be used both in and out of water.

If you want to memorize the bomb fish replica as soon as possible in your playthrough, you should know that you can find this type of monster for the first time in the Jabul Marshes, located in the northeast corner of the map. Specifically, you will want to go to this location:

The spot indicated is a cave situated along the Zora River, south of the area inhabited by the river Zoras and northwest of Jabu-Jabu’s refuge. Once you enter this cave, you will see a bomb fish in the water. Simply approach it to make it explode, and once it is defeated, you can memorize it in your encyclopedia with the Tri Scepter.

Keep in mind that you can travel to this cave as soon as you complete the first dungeon of the game, the Ruins of Sudelia. There is actually another enemy that can also be used as a “bomb” in this game, but to reach it, you will have to progress further in the main story than with the bomb fish.

Moreover, it is even possible to acquire traditional bombs later in the adventure (so you won’t have to keep creating monster replicas), but this will also happen later in the story. Therefore, memorizing the bomb fish as explained is the ideal method to access bombs quickly and conveniently. If you want to get your hands on them, don’t hesitate to visit the cave we mentioned.
