ALL the key objects in Silent Hill 2 Remake and what they are for

In some instances while playing Silent Hill 2 Remake, players won’t need to conquer a challenging puzzle but rather to find a key or another essential item to unlock doors or activate mechanisms. In this section, you’ll discover a detailed list of all the key objects and their purposes.

Be aware that this guide may contain spoilers regarding the functionality of each item.

South Vale Map

This map is obtained from a car during the Prologue. It can be found inside the car with the open door in the parking area.

It serves simply as a guide for navigating the area.

Replacement Workshop Key

You will find this key in the Silent Hill Ranch during the Prologue. It is located inside the replacement workshop, the building to the left of the red metal wall. To locate it, cross through the gate to the left of the red wall and circle around the building on the left. Enter through the window, and you will see a lit table in the background; the key is in the drawer.

This key is used to open the door of the red wall that you just observed.

East South Vale Map

This map is automatically obtained when you start exploring the Streets of Silent Hill.

Radio

The radio is a mandatory item that you acquire during the Streets of Silent Hill. You can find it on the sofa in a house that you enter through a broken garage entrance, following a trail of blood. When activated, it emits static noise to alert you of nearby monsters.

Neely’s Bar Coin

This coin is discovered during the Streets of Silent Hill. It’s located in the Texan café, at the eastern edge of Martin Street.

Check the cash register at the counter to collect it.

Vinyl Glue

You will find vinyl glue during the Streets of Silent Hill. It is in the Groovy Music store, located north of Neely with Katz.

Once inside, head to the back of the display cases and break the glass to access the adjacent room. You will discover the glue on the table. It is used to attach the Broken Vinyl Record (1) and the Broken Vinyl Record (2). This is part of the puzzle related to the Jukebox in Neely’s Bar.

Broken Vinyl Record (1)

This record can be found next to the glue, and it’s hard to miss.

Apartment Key (5)

This key is obtained during the Streets of Silent Hill. To find it, head to the Apartments on Saul Street, located in the southern area of the map.

You can enter easily from the sidewalk. Once in the hallway on the ground floor, go straight ahead and look to your right until you spot a door blocked by furniture. Push it aside to reach the concierge’s booth. The key is located in the lockers on the wall and is used to access apartment 5 in this building, as the name implies. It is part of the puzzle related to the Jukebox in Neely’s Bar.

Jukebox Button

This button is also found in the Apartments on Saul Street during the Streets of Silent Hill. After acquiring the previous key, ascend the stairs and open apartment 5. From there, you can access apartment 6 through a crack in the wall, and then exit through another crack in apartment 6 to enter the hallway. This route allows you to climb out a window and up a fire escape to the upper floor.

Once there, proceed straight ahead and to the right to discover a bathroom with a hole in the wall.

You must interact with the hole several times to retrieve the object. This item is used in the puzzle related to the Jukebox in Neely’s Bar.

Broken Vinyl Record (2)

This record can be found in Neely’s Bar during the Streets of Silent Hill.

To collect it, uncover the jukebox to retrieve the record. This is also part of the puzzle related to the Jukebox in Neely’s Bar.

Neely’s Bar Key

This key is obtained after solving the Jukebox puzzle in Neely’s Bar. It is used to unlock the door next to the bar counter.

Wood Side Apartments Key

After acquiring the previous key, you can pass through the back room of the bar and exit into a parking area. Head to the east, where you should see a marked question mark.

Go there and examine the pile of clothes in front of a blue-green car to obtain the key. It is used to enter the Wood Side Apartments in the upper left area of the map.
