New game+ at 100% in Silent Hill 2 Remake

The New Game+ feature in the Silent Hill 2 Remake allows players to revisit the game after finishing the main storyline for the first time. Accessible from the main menu, players can select New Game and then opt for New Game+. Unlike many other games, this mode does not carry over items or progress from your previous playthrough. Instead, it introduces fresh elements and presents opportunities to unlock additional endings, including two that are exclusive to this remake.

To fully enjoy everything that New Game+ has to offer, it’s important to be aware of the changes in various areas and what actions you need to take to unlock these additional endings. This guide will provide you with the steps necessary to enhance your experience.

Requirements for New Game+

Before you start New Game+, there’s one important requirement: you must have experienced the Underwater Ending. This particular ending is crucial as it unlocks one of the new endings. If you haven’t seen it, you won’t be able to proceed.

Prologue Changes

In the Prologue, players will notice several adjustments. For example, when you reach the Cemetery, head to the northeast corner to find a tomb by the lake. Here you can collect the Ceremony Crimson book. Additionally, shortly after leaving the Cemetery, you can find a Chainsaw to your right in the ranch area. This powerful weapon can take down most enemies with a single strike.

As you continue, you’ll eventually cross a tunnel after using the workshop key. Look for a car on your left; breaking its windows with the chainsaw will reveal the Key of Sorrow.

Exploring Silent Hill

As you navigate through the eerie streets of Silent Hill, the New Game+ mode offers a new perspective. The gameplay dynamics change, encouraging players to explore thoroughly to uncover all secrets and collectibles.

While revisiting areas, keep an eye out for any modifications that may have taken place and the new interactions available. This exploration not only enriches your experience but also aids in achieving different endings and discovering hidden lore.
