To unlock the story mode featuring Future Trunks in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, you must first complete Goku’s storyline in the episodic battles. Specifically, you need to finish Chapter 6 of Goku’s narrative, which connects to Future Trunks’ arc.

During this chapter, you will encounter formidable enemies like Goku Black and Zamas, including their fused version. Be mindful that some alternative paths in certain stages may lead to dead ends that won’t aid your progress.

Selecting the Appropriate Difficulty

These side paths should not be overly challenging if you choose to play on a lower difficulty, as this setting allows you to skip secondary objectives and focus on the main tasks that guide you through the primary storyline toward the chapter’s end.
