Cornered in the catacombs 100% in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
In the intriguing realm of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players will discover a variety of engaging side quests, including Cornered in the Catacombs. This guide will assist you in activating and completing this quest effectively.
How to Activate Cornered in the Catacombs
To start this mission, make sure you have advanced sufficiently in the game, particularly by finishing the Guarding the Veil mission. Keep in mind that this quest may only be accessible if you chose to assist Treviso instead of Minrathous in the previous mission. Look for a marker located in a narrow alley near the base of the Shadow Dragons to initiate the quest.
Once you locate the marker, approach it and talk to the NPC to begin the quest.
How to Complete Cornered in the Catacombs
After starting the mission, your path will lead you into the catacombs, a newly accessible area. The only available route will take you past a corruption cyst, which will burst and reveal an entrance to a kitchen-like area. Defeat the larger enemies in your path and destroy the cysts on the walls and ceiling to eliminate the corruption masses on the ground. If you ignore this, enemies will keep spawning.
Be sure to gather the document found within the machinery, break through the debris, and continue forward.
As you advance, you will come across a crystal of energy; however, it’s best to hold off on collecting it for now. Instead, focus on the ruin cysts and keep eliminating them until no enemies remain.
First, activate the Altar of the Evanuris. Then, climb the nearby scaffolding and look up. You will see a point that can be destroyed using your abilities, making several corruption cysts temporarily vulnerable. If you take too long, return to the spot and destroy any cysts you missed.
Next, head toward the marker but take a right to find a greenish water zone, where you can utilize Harding’s power. Ensure that the beam activates an energy base on the wall in the background; this can be done by activating platforms to navigate through.
This path will lead you to a few common items and a scroll. If you look up on the stairs, you will spot more ruin cysts; destroy them to create a shortcut and eliminate the corruption blocking the marker. This will lead you to an elevator that takes you next to a chest containing a Winged Center.
Afterward, you’ll need to confront some creatures. The battles here aren’t particularly difficult, but they can become intense depending on your approach. Defeat the enemies, clear away the corruption, and return to Vesta to conclude the quest.
