These are the new Mechanics that are coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket
Weeks after its debut, Pokémon TCG Pocket is gearing up to introduce exciting new mechanics and a mini set that promise to enhance the gameplay experience. In this guide, we’ll cover all the details we have about these upcoming changes.
New Features for Pokémon in Pokémon TCG Pocket
One of the most engaging enhancements is the addition of the Pokémon Tools section, which will soon be integrated into the game. As you browse through your card collection, you will soon see a new option in the filtering menu. While you currently won’t find any results because these cards aren’t available yet, the inclusion of this feature indicates that it’s on the horizon.
For those who may not be familiar with the original trading card game, Pokémon Tools will offer various benefits to your Pokémon, similar to potions but with a variety of options to choose from.
Introduction of Special Conditions in Pokémon TCG Pocket
Alongside new tools, players can look forward to the addition of two new Special Conditions, often referred to as “Status Effects.” Currently, players can inflict Poisoned and Asleep statuses, but soon they will also have the ability to use Burned and Paralyzed conditions. These statuses will be indicated in-game through the “Trainer Hints” section.
A Pokémon that is burned will lose 20 health points at each status check, while a Pokémon that is paralyzed will be unable to attack or switch to the bench. Fortunately, players can flip a coin to potentially overcome these conditions if fortune favors them.
Expected Timeline for New Mechanics
As for when these mechanics will be available, details are still sparse. However, with about a week and a half remaining until the new mini set launches, it’s reasonable to expect that these features might be introduced around that time. The most likely scenario is that we won’t see these updates until at least January.
