In the enchanting realm of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players are presented with a variety of side quests that enhance the narrative and character progression. One notable quest is Friends Loyal, which takes place in the picturesque Arlathan Forest. This mission not only offers challenges but also provides distinctive rewards and deeper insights into the game’s lore.

Activating Friends Loyal

The Friends Loyal quest becomes accessible after you venture into the Arlathan Forest. Look for a mission marker at the Explorers of the Veil camp once this area has been unlocked. Typically, this follows the completion of several other nearby side quests, including returning to the lighthouse and engaging with characters such as Harding and Bellara. The quest indicator for Friends Loyal will appear as a document that initiates the mission.

Completing Friends Loyal

To start the quest, head to the northern section of the region, specifically the location where you first encountered Harding during the Uneasy Feelings mission. You’ll notice this area is filled with corruption, triggering a search zone that you need to navigate through.

Your objective is to trace the source of corruption and eliminate the cystslarge area to the southwest, where you will meet Taynore, who is particularly vulnerable to fire attacks.

Taynore has a protective barrier and can be quite aggressive, often using detonators to complicate the fight. It’s advisable to follow the corruption trail through a tunnel to the south to gain an edge.

After passing through the tunnel, you have the option to explore to the right, where a tower with a magical barrier is located. If you circle around, you can use an artifact alongside Bellara or Neve to dispel the barrier on a nearby chest. Opening this chest will reward you with a Forest Guard’s Veil and a document before you return to the previous area.

Continue your search for a body situated near the northern shore, which is essential for completing the quest.

After retrieving the body, make your way back through the tunnel (it is a bit of a detour) and follow the marker back to the camp. To finish the mission, place the object on the table and the nug into the cage.
