Within the realm of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players engage in numerous captivating side quests, each offering distinct tasks, goals, and rewards. One notable quest is Mercenary Intent, which invites players on an adventure filled with various challenges and exploration opportunities.

How to Start Mercenary Intent

This mission unlocks after finishing Clear Mind and having a dialogue between Neve and Emmrich at the lighthouse. To begin the quest, navigate to the Port City and search for the marker located in the eastern section, particularly near the docks.

Steps to Finish Mercenary Intent

Upon reaching the marker, you will encounter mercenaries and venatori before the mission officially starts. You must defeat these foes to trigger the quest and obtain a search marker. Investigate the cage beside the ship at the dock to rescue a dockworker.

Once you receive instructions to head to the storage area, climb the stairs to the second floor, then take the left staircase. After passing through the door, look to your right for a table containing a note that you need to read. Then, return and take the other door to find a room with another note and table.

Go back to the ground floor and locate a final note on a post in the center of the room, situated almost directly from the entrance. Following this, you will be directed to the beach area linked to Neve’s mission. Defeat the venatori and liberate the qunari from the cage to successfully conclude the quest.
