As you advance in Black Myth: Wukong and venture into the Yellow Wind Ridge region in Chapter 2, you may want to embark on the Buddha’s Eyeball sidequest. While the primary objective of the game is to navigate through various areas to recover lost treasures and conquer formidable foes, there are optional missions scattered throughout. One such mission involves locating secret bosses, and the Buddha’s Eyeball sidequest is a notable one. If you’re having trouble tracking down all the chanting heads and their corresponding eye stones, this guide will help you find each Buddha’s Eyeball and explain where to deliver them once you’ve collected all six.
All Buddha’s Eyeballs Locations in Black Myth: Wukong
The Buddha’s Eyeballs are unique collectibles found near the Buddha head statues scattered throughout the Fright Cliff region in Chapter 2. You’ll know one is nearby when you hear chanting. There are a total of six heads to discover, and collecting all the Buddha’s Eyeballs will unlock the secret Shigandang boss.
Here’s where you can find all the Buddha’s Eyeballs:
#1 Buddha’s Eyeball
After entering the Fright Cliff area following your battle with the King and Second Prince of Flowing Sands, proceed straight, bypassing the enemies. A short distance ahead, you’ll discover the first head near the Squall Hideout shrine.
#2 Buddha’s Eyeball
From the Squall Hideout shrine, take the path to your right and stick to the left side. While navigating this area, be cautious of enemies on both sides. Eventually, you’ll notice a small bridge on your right. Do not cross it yet; instead, continue straight ahead to locate the next head.
#3 Buddha’s Eyeball
Retrace your steps to find the second Buddha’s Eyeball. This time, when you see the bridge to your right, cross it. Take the stairs directly in front of you and ascend the platforms until you reach the highest one, where the third Buddha’s Eyeball awaits.
#4 Buddha’s Eyeball
Return to the Squall Hideout shrine and follow the path to your left. Continue upward while dealing with rock-walking enemies. In the darker section of the path, turn left to discover the fourth Buddha’s Eyeball and another enemy.
#5 Buddha’s Eyeball
To find this eyeball, progress further into the region until you reach the Rockrest Flat shrine, located beyond where you found the second Buddha’s Eyeball. Upon reaching the Rockrest Flat shrine, take the left path and continue a bit ahead to find the Buddha’s Eyeball.
#6 Buddha’s Eyeball
Starting from the Rockrest Flat shrine, enter the cavern to your left and turn right, following the path upward. Continue straight while defeating a few pesky enemies. When you reach a statue surrounded by numerous crystals, turn right to find the platform where the last Buddha’s Eyeball is located.
What Are the Buddha’s Eyeballs Used For?
Once you have collected all the Buddha’s Eyeballs, it’s time to put them to use. Return to the Rockrest Flat shrine, take the left path where you previously found the fifth Buddha’s Eyeball, and proceed to find a gate that leads to a large arena.
Inside this arena, you will notice a massive rock to your left as you enter. Approach it, and the option to Deliver will appear. Since this location is where you will also face the Stone Vanguard boss, you might want to deal with them first. Alternatively, if you’re curious, you can deliver the eyeballs while the Stone Vanguard is still present; doing so will summon the secret boss, Shigandang, who will fight the Stone Vanguard on your behalf, which can be quite advantageous!
Congratulations on locating all six Buddha’s Eyeballs! You can now continue your adventure in Chapter 2 as you move towards the final boss of this area, the formidable Yellow Wind Sage.
