Binacle 100% perfect IV stats, shiny Binacle preview in Pokémon Go

This week’s Spotlight Hour highlights the Two-Handed Pokémon, providing a great chance to catch a perfect Binacle and shiny Binacle in Pokémon Go. Known as the barnacle Pokémon, Binacle is relatively rare in the game, making its appearance in Spotlight Hour particularly exciting. Despite its unique Rock/Water typing, Binacle isn’t very useful in the current Go Battle League meta.

If you’re not interested in PVP, catching as many Pokémon as possible during this Spotlight Hour is advisable due to the double transfer candy bonus that accompanies the event.

Binacle 100% Perfect IV Stats in Pokémon Go

This Spotlight Hour presents an excellent opportunity to catch a Binacle with perfect IV stats. In Pokémon Go, ‘perfect’ can mean two things based on how you intend to use the Pokémon. The ideal scenario is to find a 100% IV version, which is a 15/15/15 and is best suited for raids and Master League battles. However, a perfect IV Pokémon is generally only the best version of itself in the Master League.

You cannot see the IV of a Pokémon until you catch it, but if you do your homework, you can identify a perfect Binacle based on its CP. If you’re at Level 30 or above, here are the wild CP values to look out for a perfect 15/15/15 Binacle:

  • Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 811 CP
  • Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 878 CP

These values align with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30, which is why they are provided for simplicity. Be aware that these numbers will differ if you are below Level 30.

Is Barbaracle Good in PVP?

Barbaracle, Binacle’s evolution, isn’t exactly the strongest contender in Great League, especially with the introduction of Annihilape, which significantly impacts its performance. Prior to this, its double weakness to Grass was a major drawback. Currently, Barbaracle doesn’t win many matches in the current meta.

For PVP moves, Barbaracle can use Fury Cutter (Fast), Stone Edge (Charged), and Cross Chop (Charged). While Stone Edge serves as its only STAB move, Fury Cutter is useful for fast charging, and Cross Chop is economical to unleash. This creates a fast-paced Pokémon that can apply decent shield pressure.

In Great League, Barbaracle can easily defeat Talonflame, Dewgong, Mantine, Bastiodon, and Mandibuzz. However, it struggles against meta-relevant opponents like Annihilape, Shadow Gligar, Shadow Whiscash, Skarmory, and Lickitung. In Ultra League, wins can be had against Talonflame, Golisopod, Charizard, Greninja, and Skeledirge, but it will lose to Virizion, Poliwrath, Giratina Altered, Cresselia, and Steelix. In Master League, Barbaracle is generally not a viable option due to its lack of bulk.

Is There a Shiny Binacle in Pokémon Go?

Yes, there is shiny Binacle! Shiny Binacle was first released during the Water Festival in 2022, marking its anniversary in the game, making this Spotlight Hour a great opportunity for shiny hunters.

What Does Shiny Binacle Look Like?

Shiny Binacle features a color palette change: orange is swapped for pink, brown for a greenish-brown, and ivory for light green. It presents a striking appearance, resembling moss-covered rocks found at low tide. Shiny Barbaracle mimics Binacle’s colors, with slightly pastel versions of the same hues.

Other Tips for This Spotlight Hour

Besides hunting for a perfect shiny Binacle, there are other compelling reasons to participate in this Spotlight Hour:

  • One of the main draws is the double transfer candy bonus, which applies to all Pokémon, not just the featured one. This bonus is especially beneficial for lower-level trainers, so consider creating a Tag in your Pokémon storage for easier management.
  • Creating a tag called ‘Transfer’ can help you organize Pokémon you wish to get rid of. Instead of transferring them as you catch them, hold onto them for this event to maximize your candy gains. Transferring high-value Pokémon, such as Mewtwo, during this bonus can yield significant rewards.
  • You also have an increased chance of obtaining Candy XL when transferring Pokémon.
  • Catching Binacle during this Spotlight Hour will also help progress your catch bonus medals, thanks to its Rock/Water typing.

Keep in mind that Spotlight Hour events are time-sensitive, running from 6 PM to 7 PM local time. Good luck on your quest to find a perfect shiny Binacle!
