Dragon Ball Sparking!

Since its launch, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has shown itself to be a game that presents a real challenge to players. Online discussions quickly filled up with feedback from gamers expressing their frustrations over the heightened difficulty of certain battles in the story mode, particularly during iconic moments like the showdown with great ape Vegeta in Goku’s storyline.

In this edition, players will encounter CPU battles that are exceptionally tough. Even seasoned gamers may find themselves struggling to progress. To assist those feeling stuck, we’ve put together a handy trick that’s easy to use and effective against all types of opponents. Here’s what you need to know!

How to Conquer the Toughest Foes? A Winning Strategy

Although Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero boasts a diverse roster of characters, unique techniques, and various combos, there is a “trick” available to every character that can help you defeat AI-controlled opponents with ease.

This strategy has been shared by numerous players who’ve used it successfully to finish all story battles, tournaments, and extra fights. They assert that it works reliably against all opponents, including formidable bosses like the great ape Vegeta.

If you want to incorporate this strategy into your gameplay, follow these steps:

  • Begin by fully charging your character’s Ki (hold R2 on PlayStation or RT on Xbox).
  • To recharge your Ki bar, maintain a safe distance from your opponent and use environmental cover to your advantage.
  • Your objective is to activate Sparking mode, which enables your character to unleash ultimate attacks.
  • You’ll know you’ve triggered Sparking mode when the Ki bar beneath your character’s health is highlighted with purple and lightning effects.
  • Remember, Sparking mode requires at least 1 skill point, indicated below your character’s image.
  • Skill points accumulate over the course of the battle (if you have none, be patient).
  • Once in Sparking mode, execute a Dragon Rush to dash at your opponent quickly by pressing R2 + X twice on PS or RT + A twice on Xbox.
  • When you’re in front of your enemy, start unleashing basic attacks continuously by pressing Square on PS or X on Xbox.
  • As your Ki bar depletes, aim downward and press Triangle on PS or Y on Xbox to perform a Ki explosion.
  • This action will knock your opponent to the ground and stun them, giving you the ideal chance to unleash your ultimate move.
  • To initiate your ultimate attack (before Sparking mode expires), press R2 + Circle on PS or RT + B on Xbox.

This combination of actions is incredibly powerful and can significantly reduce your opponent’s health if executed correctly. While it may initially seem complex, it becomes straightforward with practice.

The best part is that you can reuse this technique as often as needed throughout each fight. Just wait until you have 1 skill point available to activate Sparking mode again.

During Sparking mode, right after executing the Dragon Rush towards your opponent, they will often struggle to respond. This rapid move allows you to land multiple basic attacks seamlessly, potentially resulting in a combo of 20 hits or more.

Occasionally, the enemy may attempt to block your basic attack sequence while in Sparking mode. Stay alert; be prepared to hit the block button quickly. If you manage to block at the right moment, you’ll find yourself positioned behind the opponent, allowing you to continue your assault (mastering this technique is almost as essential as activating Sparking mode).

Moreover, after launching your ultimate attack, the opponent typically remains incapacitated for several seconds, giving you plenty of time to recharge your Ki fully and repeat the strategy. While this approach may not be the most “noble” way to tackle the game, it’s an extremely effective method for overcoming difficult battles.

Even with this strategy at your disposal, the game remains challenging, but we hope it provides the assistance you need to tackle the toughest fights. Best of luck!
