Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Dreaming of Blue Skies walkthrough
In the ‘Dreaming of Blue Skies’ quest in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, players must choose between bovine meat, monster flesh, or peculiar greens. While the choice has minor consequences—affecting the quality of a commemorative photo—the quest itself is an engaging experience.
Starting the Dreaming of Blue Skies Quest
To unlock the ‘Dreaming of Blue Skies’ side quest, you first need to complete the ‘When Words Won’t Do’ side quest found on the Under Junon noticeboard. This side quest becomes available after finishing the ‘Friends Together Again’ main quest during Chapter 4.
Once you finish ‘When Words Won’t Do’, follow Toby into the Crow’s Nest and check the noticeboard for the new side quests, including ‘Dreaming of Blue Skies’. To start this quest, head west from the Crow’s Nest settlement and climb the elevated wooden bridge to reach Colin, who will initiate the quest.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Dreaming of Blue Skies Walkthrough
Your primary objective in ‘Dreaming of Blue Skies’ is to gather cow’s meat to feed the Condor.
Heading to the Hunting Spot
There are Remnawave Towers to the north or south of the cow’s location for fast travel, in addition to a Grasslands Chocobo Stop. If you haven’t unlocked these yet, fast travel to the entrance of Crow’s Nest, then walk west to reach the hunting spot.
As you approach, Cloud will crouch, indicating that you need to sneak up on the cow. However, don’t worry if the cow runs away—it’s part of the quest!
Tracking Down the Condor’s Dinner
Next, use your Chocobo to pick up the cow’s scent by holding up on the d-pad and following the floating orb to locate the cow again. Be prepared to battle Ignilisk enemies that appear during your journey, and watch as the cow gets carried off by another fiend.
Confronting the Dinner Thief
Use your Chocobo to track the scent once more and follow the floating orb into the fiend’s cave, where you must leave your Chocobo behind. Equip Wind Materia and select party members who can combat flying enemies, as you will face the Mystic Dragon.
The Mystic Dragon poses a significant challenge, so be ready to block or parry its attacks when the red text appears, indicating its next move. Linking Auto-Cast Materia with Healing Materia can also be beneficial for characters you wish to manage automatically.
Consequences of Choosing Bovine Meat, Monster Flesh, or Peculiar Greens
For the best quality commemorative photo at the end of the quest, select the bovine meat. However, it’s worth noting that regardless of your choice, you receive the same Materia reward, and Cloud’s relationship with Tifa improves by the same degree.
Here’s the type of photo you get based on your food choice:
- Bovine meat – Well-composed Condor photograph.
- Monster flesh – Nice Condor photograph.
- Peculiar greens – Blurry Condor photograph.
After making your choice in the cave, return to Colin on the wooden bridge and witness the quest’s conclusion. The full rewards for completing the ‘Dreaming of Blue Skies’ quest include:
- Improved relationship with Tifa.
- Warding Materia.
- Commemorative photo.
Happy exploring in Junon!
