In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, players must locate feed for Piko during the quest titled ‘Gearing up for the Race‘ to enhance their Chocobo’s performance in upcoming races. Therefore, it’s beneficial to gather all six greens if you’re looking to diversify your Chocobo gear.

Feed for Piko Explained
Throughout the ‘Gearing up for the Race’ quest, players can collect a total of six greens as feed for Piko. However, it’s important to note that only three greens are necessary to progress the story, while the remaining three can be exchanged for the Gi Chocobo Gear set from Esther. Even beyond completionist goals, acquiring this gear can be advantageous, as all Chocobo Gear provides racing benefits. The Gi set is a solid option for the forthcoming story race if you haven’t invested in other Chocobo gear yet.
It’s worth mentioning that the extra three greens cannot be used elsewhere, and feeding Piko more than three greens is not possible. Thus, completing all the feed for Piko tasks is recommended if you wish to purchase the Gi gear. However, if your goal is merely to advance the story, sticking to the three easiest tasks will expedite your progress.
Here’s a list of all feed for Piko locations ranked from easiest to hardest:
Feed for Piko Location 1
The first location is where three thugs are situated near the Queen’s Blood players in the central northern part of Corel Prison, associated with the subquest titled ‘Stalkers?’.
To acquire the green from the thugs, walk to the right and enter the house at the end by the chest. Crawl through the gap in the wall to confront the trio. You will receive the green after defeating all three thugs.
Feed for Piko Location 2
The second location involves encountering a truth and lie minigame in the southeastern part of Corel Prison, located behind the weapon and item vendors, linked to the subquest ‘Swindling Seminar’.
To obtain the green from Conniving Caglio, you need to determine which of the five numbered individuals is being truthful. This task can be time-consuming, as the answers are randomized. If needed, a separate guide can provide detailed strategies to identify the liars in the Swindling Seminar.
Feed for Piko Location 3
The third location is at the Bail Jumper, a bar in the central northern part of Corel Prison, opposite the three thugs and Queen’s Blood players. This is part of the subquest titled ‘The Bartender’s Untended Garden’.
To obtain the green from the bartender, chase a Cactuar located past the gate near the crowd with a megaphone speaker at the northern tip of Corel Prison. It’s advisable to evade unnecessary battles to focus on catching the Cactuar. Be cautious, as you will face a group of Cactuars that can deal substantial damage if you are not prepared. Equip any ATB Up Accessories or Materia before the encounter.
Feed for Piko Location 4
The fourth feed location is the Desert Rush minigame found in the shop of the same name, located in the western part of Solemnitude Manor. The subquest is also called ‘Desert Rush’.
To obtain the green, you must achieve at least 15,000 points while playing Desert Rush, which is reminiscent of the box-destroying minigame in the Remake. Points can be earned by hitting various boxes, and it’s recommended to save ATB charges for using the Braver ability on larger boxes.
Feed for Piko Location 5
The fifth location is in the underground Beast Battleground area, accessible by descending a ladder in the southeastern corner of Corel Prison, just below the Swindling Seminar location. This subquest is also named ‘Beast Battleground’.
To obtain the green from this arena, you must complete the first three combat challenges. Prepare yourself for the following enemies:
- Sylkis Cup Round 1: Field of Nightmares – Fight against two Ignilisks and one Grasslands Wolf. These enemies are weak, so utilizing Cloud’s Braver or Triple Slash abilities should suffice.
- Sylkis Cup Round 2: Portent of Ruin – This round features one Bagnadrana, which is weak to Ice. Attack from the front or use long-range abilities, as it can pin Cloud down if approached directly.
- Sylkis Cup Round 3: Unknown Error – You’ll face Test 0, which is weak to Fire. It moves quickly, so dodging its attacks is crucial while waiting for the right moment to strike.
Feed for Piko Location 6
The final feed location is with the three Queen’s Blood players found in the central northern area of Corel Prison, situated in a small shelter near the three thugs and across from the Bail Jumper bar. To access this subquest, you can pick up the ‘Peculiar Card Players’ task from the Card Collector at the House of Cards, located in the southern part of Corel Prison.
To gain the greens from this subquest, you must defeat all three Queen’s Blood players. They are ranked at level 3, so their cards are not the strongest. However, if you’re looking to expand your card collection, booster packs can be purchased from the Card Collector.
Now that you’ve gathered all six greens for the Gearing up for the Race quest, return to Piko to feed them three of the greens. You can also opt to use the remaining three greens to acquire the Gi Chocobo gear from Esther. Best of luck in your first Chocobo race!
