Audrey, a dedicated fan and translator, summarized Nomura’s insights, stating, “FF7 Remake Part 3 main story has already been completed, and Nomura thinks they will perhaps start voice recording in the near future.” He also mentioned an intriguing idea proposed by Kitase about including a significant element that was absent from the original game. Nomura is contemplating how to incorporate this idea in a way that will delight fans.

Kitase has expressed his desire to deliver an outstanding product for Part 3 without compromising on quality due to time constraints. He emphasized that the efficient development period for Rebirth was largely attributed to retaining the same team from the previous installment, a strategy that will continue for Part 3.

Moreover, Kitase revealed that Rebirth was developed over three years, with approximately one year allocated for DLC. He aims to replicate this development timeline for the upcoming installment as well. If this schedule holds, fans could see the release of Part 3 around 2027.

In related news, it has been reported that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has sold roughly half the number of copies compared to its predecessor within the same timeframe, leading analysts to suggest that it is underperforming in terms of sales.

Despite the sales figures, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was met with critical acclaim upon its release. Reviewers have described it as an “overstuffed but lovable re-imagining” of the original game, highlighting the depth and creativity involved in its development.
