Hades 2: How to decorate the Crossroads with different decorations and aspects?
The Crossroads act as a central hub where players can rest, craft formulas, grow plants, and train in Hades 2. This location is inherently striking, but it can be further enhanced as you progress and upgrade its features. With the arrival of the Olympic update, players now have the chance to personalize the Crossroads to their liking, similar to options available in the previous title. This guide will detail how to customize the Crossroads, what steps are necessary, and all the relevant information about this exciting feature.
Activating the Decoration Feature
To begin decorating the Crossroads with ornaments, themes, and music, you first need to advance in your game. To unlock this feature, you must meet the following requirement:
- You need to offer at least one Nectar to Dora.
Dora is the green character who frequently appears in Melinoë’s chambers right after you wake from each run. Initially, providing her with a Nectar will prompt her to discuss the possibility of decorating the Crossroads.
If, after giving her a Nectar, Dora still doesn’t mention the decoration feature, it indicates that you need to progress further. You may need to continue playing and expand the Crossroads area (remember, you can create spots like the Bathhouse, the Garden of Cultivation, and the Miserable Merchant’s shop).
Be sure to talk to Dora each time you return to the Crossroads, as she will eventually bring up the option to customize the area.
Designing Decorations
Once you gain the ability to decorate with Dora, you’ll find her in up to three different locations where you can interact with her to enhance various areas: your own room, the general area (near the Cauldron), and the training area (by the memories cabinet).
- To decorate an area, simply select the “Decorate” button when you approach Dora.
- A list of available decorations for that specific area will be displayed.
- You will need to spend Prestige to install new decorations (and sometimes additional special materials).
- Once you obtain a decoration, it remains unlocked permanently, allowing you to revert to previous designs whenever desired.
Later on, you can also create the cauldron formula “Invocation of the Musical Rhapsody” to unlock the Musician in the Crossroads, a character that enables you to purchase new background music, which can also be seen as a form of decoration since it requires Prestige.
Acquiring Prestige for Decorations
To purchase decorations, you will need to spend a form of “currency” known as Prestige. You can primarily earn Prestige through the Miserable Merchant after crafting the cauldron formula “Earthly Fortune.”
At the Merchant, you can exchange nearly all surplus resources for Prestige, such as Trash dropped by Eris or various plants you no longer require, like the Thalamus. Essentially, only materials that are no longer useful for anything else in the game can be converted into Prestige.
Unlocking Unique Decorations
When you first gain the ability to decorate the Crossroads, the list of available decorations is limited. However, you can unlock new decorations by meeting certain conditions:
- By purchasing decorations from the available list.
- By enhancing your relationships with other characters.
- After a certain number of nights have passed.
- When you defeat a specific number of enemies or bosses.
- After exploring new areas in the underworld or the surface.
Keep in mind that there are special decorations tied to certain characters, but to unlock them, you need to achieve at least a 70% approval rating with each character, or in some cases, a full 100%, meaning you must collect all their hearts.
