Hoppip 100% perfect IV stats, shiny Jumpluff in Pokémon Go
This week’s Spotlight Hour in Pokémon Go features the Cottonweed Pokémon, making it an excellent opportunity to catch a Hoppip!
Hoppip can evolve into Jumpluff, which is useful in the Great League but not very effective in other formats. Due to its Community Day event in 2022, Hoppip is quite common, so you likely already have several in your collection. The ‘weed’ aspect of its name definitely rings true—Hoppip is abundant.
For those interested in the bonuses during this week’s Spotlight Hour, players will enjoy a double catch candy bonus, allowing for an abundance of Hoppip Candy!
Hoppip’s 100% Perfect IV Stats in Pokémon Go
This Spotlight Hour provides a fantastic chance to catch a Hoppip with perfect IV stats. In Pokémon Go, a ‘perfect’ Pokémon can refer to either a maxed-out, 100% IV version (15/15/15) or the ideal IVs for competitive play.
To identify a perfect Hoppip, especially if you’re level 30 or above, you should look for the following CP values:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum): 514
- Level 35 (weather boosted CP maximum): 557
Is Jumpluff Good in PVP?
Jumpluff performs reasonably well in the Great League but struggles in other leagues. Its Grass/Flying typing and solid bulk give it some advantages. In Great League, effective moves include Fairy Wind as a fast move, Energy Ball as a charged move, and Acrobatics (a legacy move).
In the Ultra League, you might switch Energy Ball for Aerial Ace, but Jumpluff generally does not perform well there. It’s best avoided in the Master League due to its limitations.
Is There a Shiny Hoppip in Pokémon Go?
Yes, shiny Hoppip exists! It was released during Hoppip Community Day in February 2022. Although shiny rates are not boosted outside of Community Day events, catching a shiny Hoppip in the wild is still possible.
Each Hoppip you encounter has the potential to be shiny, so it’s worth checking each one. Hoppip has two evolutions—Skiploom and Jumpluff—which require 25 and 100 candies, respectively.
What Do Shiny Hoppip, Shiny Skiploom, and Shiny Jumpluff Look Like?
When catching Pokémon, shiny variants can be identified by sparkles at the start of the encounter, a shiny icon next to the Pokémon’s name, and alternate coloring. A shiny Hoppip appears green, while shiny Skiploom has a pink body with a yellow flower. Shiny Jumpluff showcases a fully pink design.
Other Tips for This Spotlight Hour
Aside from the chance to catch a shiny Hoppip, there are several reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight Hour:
- The double catch candy bonus allows you to gather candy faster, with each Hoppip caught yielding up to 13 candies if you use a Pinap or Silver Berry.
- This bonus also applies to research rewards, meaning you can save Pokémon caught during tasks for the hour to maximize your candy gains.
- Newcomers will find this Spotlight Hour ideal for collecting enough candy to fully evolve Hoppip and add its evolutions to the Pokédex.
- Catching Hoppip contributes progress towards catching bonuses for Grass/Flying types.
Remember, Spotlight Hour events last for just one hour—6 PM to 7 PM local time. Good luck catching your perfect Hoppip!
