How to complete Impa’s Gift in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
To unlock the ability to ride Zelda’s majestic white horse in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you need to complete the ‘Impa’s Gift’ side quest.
Since Ocarina of Time, Zelda has been known to have a white horse, notably during her escape from Hyrule Castle Town in Link’s prophetic dream at the game’s start. This iconic horse has appeared in various titles, including Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, albeit likely through its lineage. Let’s dive into the steps needed to acquire Zelda’s white horse in the ‘Impa’s Gift’ walkthrough.
Starting ‘Impa’s Gift’ in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
To initiate the ‘Impa’s Gift’ side quest, you must first complete the Hyrule Castle dungeon. After finishing this, a brief cutscene will follow, and you need to speak with Impa in the throne room of Hyrule Castle.
Walkthrough for ‘Impa’s Gift’
The quest begins with Impa revealing that she has secretly raised a horse as a gift for Zelda. Your next destination is Hyrule Ranch, located southwest of Hyrule Castle Town. If you haven’t already, you may need to complete the Runaway Horse side quest before proceeding.
Upon arriving at Hyrule Ranch, talk to a little girl in the northwestern corner. She will inform you that while they have Zelda’s horse, it is currently away. Soon after, her brother rushes in, panicked, explaining that a rift opened at the Carrot Patch, causing the horse to be sucked in. The siblings will hurry to the rift, and you should follow them.
Finding the Carrot Patch
The Carrot Patch is situated in the northern part of Hyrule Field, bordering the Eternal Forest and northwest of Hyrule Castle Town. You can reach it by traveling northwest from Hyrule Ranch, ensuring you ascend the slope when you encounter it.
Upon reaching the Carrot Patch, you’ll find that it is nearly consumed by a rift. It’s time to explore the Stilled World.
Stilled Carrot Patch Rift Walkthrough
As with other rifts in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, your goal in the Stilled Carrot Patch rift is to locate Tri’s friends and use their abilities to clear the rift. You will need to find four dark clumps.
Start by jumping across the gap at the rift’s entrance. Destroy the crates on the platform to uncover a ladder leading down. This area will shift to a side-scrolling section where the first dark clump is hidden inside a crate, but a gate blocks your access to it. To lift the gate, jump down to the area beneath the crates, bind the Platboom, and position it on the right side. Create two Trampoline Echoes on top of each other and wait for the Platboom to rise before using the Trampoline Echoes to jump over the boulder and reach the switch.
With the gate lifted, you can now reach the crate and destroy it to collect the first dark clump. Next, leave the side-scrolling area, jump over the gap, and you’ll find more crates. Destroy these to reveal another ladder leading down.
You will enter a cellar where two Dark Moblins are waiting. Defeat them to acquire the third dark clump. Move the first boulders aside using Bind, and find a place for the third to clear the path to the final dark clump, which is hidden in an alcove.
Finally, return to the platform with the first dark clump and ascend using Water Block Echoes as necessary. Jump across the platforms until you reach a ledge where you can use a Platboom Echo to find the last dark clump. Collect all dark clumps to clear the rift and earn two Might Crystals.
Rewards from ‘Impa’s Gift’
Upon returning to Hyrule, you’ll notice that the Carrot Patch has been restored. To summon Zelda’s horse, use Bind on a nearby carrot to pull it from the ground. Congratulations! You have successfully completed the ‘Impa’s Gift’ side quest.
The primary reward is the ability to ride Zelda’s horse. Additionally, by pulling a carrot from the Carrot Patch, you will learn the Carrot Echo, enabling you to summon Zelda’s noble steed whenever you wish. Enjoy your adventures riding through Hyrule!
