How to get a horse in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Knowing how to get a horse in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will significantly enhance your ability to traverse the expansive fields of Hyrule.

While there are various Echoes for travel, nothing beats the thrill of riding a majestic horse, leaping over fences, and dodging enemies. In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you can acquire two types of horses: the rental horse and Zelda’s horse.

Let’s delve into how to get a horse in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and learn how to call a horse to your location.

How to get a horse in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

There are two distinct ways to acquire horses in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: through rental and a special quest.

Rental Horse

The first option is to obtain a rental horse. To do this, you must complete the ‘Runaway Horse‘ side quest. Despite the name, you can rent a horse at no cost.

It is advisable to complete this side quest early in your journey, as having a rental horse will greatly enhance your exploration of Hyrule. You can finish this quest after tackling the Suthorn Ruins. Simply head north through Suthorn Prairie and then west in Hyrule Field until you reach the ranch.

While this side quest allows you to rent a horse for free, you will not be able to summon these horses to your location. Therefore, you must either retrieve the horse from where you left it or return to the ranch for a new horse. Fortunately, a Waypoint is situated near the southern entrance of the ranch for quick access.

Zelda’s Horse

To ride Zelda’s noble white steed, you must complete the ‘Impa’s Gift‘ side quest. This quest becomes available midway through the game and is worthwhile because, unlike rental horses, you can summon Zelda’s horse to your location.

However, you will need to learn how to call your horse first.

How to call a horse in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: Carrot Echo location

To call a horse to your location, you must acquire the Carrot Echo.

The Carrot Echo can only be learned after finishing the ‘Impa’s Gift‘ side quest. Once completed, you can pull a carrot from the Carrot Patch located in the northern part of Hyrule Field, near the border of the Eternal Forest.

After learning the Carrot Echo, you will be able to summon your horse simply by executing this Echo. Note that only Zelda’s horse can be summoned using the Carrot Echo.

Enjoy your adventures across Hyrule on your trusty steeds, and for those seeking further knowledge about Zelda’s journey, explore additional tips and strategies.
