Kataranda the Stormrider at 100% in Dragon Age:The Veilguard

Throughout the adventure in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players will come across various side quests that enhance the gameplay experience. One notable quest is to activate and complete the mission for Kataranda the Stormrider, located in an area known as The Lighthouse.

How to Activate Kataranda the Stormrider

This quest becomes available after players have defeated the Blazing Fang. When you return to the lighthouse, look for a secondary quest marker in Taash’s room, which indicates the beginning of your journey to confront Kataranda.

How to Complete Kataranda the Stormrider

After activation, head to another area, specifically the Hall of Valor along the Rivain coast. Start by visiting the bar and checking the notice board, then proceed to the Rivain Coast. At the shore, you will find a boat where you need to burn an item with Taash in the designated search area. Following this, search the small structures and inspect the mounds along the beach.

Some mounds may contain monsters, while others will lead you to treasure. Once you’ve collected the treasure, revisit the boat and head to another marker located higher up on the beach. You must place a coin at three different markers (the crow requesting leuros). The correct marker is the one nearest to the altar of the Evanuris. With the third treasure acquired, players can finally proceed to the beach and initiate the main mission to summon Kataranda the Stormrider.

Facing Kataranda the Stormrider

Kataranda is a dragon that has a particular weakness to necrotic damage. As is common with other dragons, the strategy involves getting close to its legs to provoke its claw attacks while dealing significant damage with your strongest abilities. After taking enough damage, Kataranda will retreat to a higher position and launch ranged attacks, so maintaining patience is crucial while it’s out of reach.

Upon defeating Kataranda, players will gain access to a treasure chest containing a Stalwart Stone, followed by a cinematic sequence.
