Pokémon Go Dialga counters, weaknesses and moveset explained

Dialga, known as the Temporal Pokémon, periodically appears in the world of Pokémon Go. As a prominent figure in the game’s competitive mode, the Go Battle League, Dialga, along with its counterpart Palkia, plays a crucial role in the Master League. With the introduction of Origin Forme Palkia and Origin Forme Dialga, players have even more incentive to participate in raids featuring these Legendary Pokémon.

To successfully add Dialga to your Legendary collection in Pokémon Go, it’s essential to understand its weaknesses and counters. As with all Legendary Pokémon, Dialga is available in five-star raids for a limited time. Therefore, teaming up with other trainers for battles is necessary. Everything We Know About Dialga

Dialga hails from the Sinnoh region and is part of the creation trio, alongside Palkia and Giratina. According to its official Pokédex entry, it possesses the power to control time and is featured in Sinnoh-region myths as an ancient deity. These myths narrate how Arceus, known as the Pokémon god, created the trio at Spear Pillar, believed by many to be the origin of the entire Pokémon universe.

Giratina, often seen as a counterpart to Dialga, was banished to the Distortion World due to its violent tendencies. Following this, Arceus also created the lake trio—Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie—to maintain balance in case Dialga or Palkia went out of control.

Dialga made its debut alongside the rest of Generation 4 in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games, also serving as the mascot for the Diamond version, which prominently features it on the box art and in the storyline.

As of February 2024, Trainers in Pokémon Go can utilize Origin Forme Dialga to pause time, allowing for more efficient use of Lucky Eggs, Star Pieces, and Incenses.

Good luck in your quest to find a shiny Dialga in Pokémon Go!
