Pokémon Go Verdant Wonders Collection Challenge and research tasks

Verdant Wonders invites players of Pokémon Go to explore the lush jungles as Zarude makes its much-anticipated return in a special research quest known as Rogue of the Jungle. For those who prefer not to invest money into the game, there are also opportunities to catch new costume Pokémon, including Flower Crown Cottonee and Flower Crown Whimsicott.

As you embark on your adventure to find these new costume Pokémon, take the opportunity to complete the event-exclusive field research tasks and the Verdant Wonders Collection Challenge.

Verdant Wonders Collection Challenge Pokémon List

The Verdant Wonders Collection Challenge is available until the specified end date in your local time. Completing this challenge rewards you with various prizes and progress towards your Elite Collector Medal.

It’s essential to note that four of the Pokémon required for this challenge must be evolved, meaning you cannot simply catch them in the wild.

Here’s the list of Pokémon involved in the Verdant Wonders Collection Challenge, along with details on how to find them:

  • Bulbasaur – Available in the wild or through seasonal field research (Power up Pokémon 3 times)
  • Ivysaur – Evolve Bulbasaur using 25 Bulbasaur Candy
  • Oddish – Found in the wild or via seasonal field research (Take 3 snapshots of different wild Grass-type Pokémon)
  • Gloom – Evolve Oddish using 25 Oddish Candy
  • Hoppip – Available in the wild
  • Skiploom – Evolve Hoppip using 25 Hoppip Candy
  • Shroomish – Found in the wild
  • Breloom – Evolve Shroomish using 50 Shroomish Candy
  • Cottonee – Available in the wild, through event-exclusive field research (Catch 5 Pokémon or Walk 1km), or seasonal field research (Take a snapshot of a wild Pokémon)
  • Whimsicott – Evolve Cottonee using a Sun Stone and 50 Cottonee Candy

Completing this challenge rewards you with 5000 XP, 2500 Stardust, or the chance to obtain Flower Crown Cottonee.


The Max Out Season is here! You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. However, to participate, you must first visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Also, make sure to explore Routes, Gift Exchange, and Party Play while hunting rare Pokémon, battling in the Go Battle League, or showcasing your skills in PokéStop Showcases.


Verdant Wonders Field Research Tasks

During the Verdant Wonders event, you can acquire event-exclusive field research tasks by spinning PokéStops. While these tasks can be saved and completed after the event concludes, it’s advantageous to finish them during the event to aid in completing the Collection Challenge.

Here are the field research tasks associated with Verdant Wonders:

  • Catch 5 Pokémon – Rewards include encounters with Poliwag, Slugma, or Flower Crown Cottonee
  • Catch 15 Pokémon – Rewards include encounters with Pansage, Pansear, or Panpour
  • Walk 1km – Rewards include encounters with Vulpix, Marill, or Flower Crown Cottonee
  • Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms – Reward includes 100 Stardust

Rogue of the Jungle Explained

Rogue of the Jungle is a special research quest that requires payment to access, giving players the chance to catch Zarude for the first time since its last appearance. A ticket for Rogue of the Jungle costs approximately £7.99 or $7.99, and it cannot be purchased using PokéCoins. However, it can be gifted to friends with a Great Friend status or higher.

Be aware that these tickets are only available for purchase until the event’s end date in your local time. After you buy the ticket, you can complete the quest at your leisure, as there are no deadlines for finishing it.

Purchasing the Rogue of the Jungle ticket will also increase the spawn rate of certain Pokémon when using regular Incense:

Everything You Need to Know About Verdant Wonders

In addition to Zarude’s return, Verdant Wonders features two new costume Pokémon: Flower Crown Cottonee and Flower Crown Whimsicott. To evolve into Flower Crown Whimsicott, you will need 50 Cottonee Candy, a Sun Stone, and a Flower Crown Cottonee. Remember, Flower Crown Cottonee will only be available until the event concludes.

Furthermore, Verdant Wonders introduces shiny Flabébé and its evolution line into Pokémon Go. Be on the lookout for this shiny flower, as it will be more prevalent during the event:
