Pokémon Go Weather Week Collection Challenges, research tasks and bonuses
Weather Week has made its return to Pokémon Go, bringing with it the excitement of weather-themed Pokémon! This event features a variety of Collection Challenges and event-exclusive field research tasks for players to engage with, along with an increased spawn rate for certain Pokémon based on current weather conditions.
As part of the festivities, players can take advantage of Weather Week bonuses. Notably, there is a double Stardust bonus for catches, and players have an enhanced chance of encountering a shiny Castform.
Weather Week Collection Challenge Pokémon List
The Weather Week Collection Challenge is active in Pokémon Go and will reward players with various prizes and progress toward the Elite Collector Medal upon completion. Here’s a list of Pokémon that players can find during this event:
- Paras – Available in the wild or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
- Drifloon – Available in the wild or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
- Helioptile – Available in the wild or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
- Amaura – Available in the wild, one-star raids, or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost)

Completing this challenge will reward players with 7500 Stardust.

The Castform Collection Challenge is also available, offering rewards and progress towards the Elite Collector Medal. Here’s the list of Pokémon involved in this challenge:
- Regular Castform – Available in the wild or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 10 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
- Sunny Castform – Available in the wild or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 10 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
- Rainy Castform – Available in the wild or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 10 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
- Snowy Castform – Available in the wild or through an event-exclusive field research task (Catch 10 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
Upon completion, players will be rewarded with either 5000 Stardust or 1 Incense.
Weather Week Field Research Tasks
Throughout Weather Week, players can collect event-exclusive field research tasks by spinning PokéStops. These tasks can be saved and completed even after the event ends. However, players are encouraged to complete them during the event to aid in finishing the Collection Challenges.
Here are some of the field research tasks available during Weather Week:
- Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost – Reward: Encounter with Paras, Drifloon, Helioptile, or Amaura
- Catch 7 Pokémon with Weather Boost – Reward: 750 Stardust
- Catch 10 Pokémon with Weather Boost – Reward: Encounter with Regular, Sunny, Rainy, or Snowy Castform
Additional Information About Weather Week
Weather Week features several bonuses running until the event concludes. Players will earn double Stardust for every Pokémon caught, along with extra Stardust for capturing Weather Boosted Pokémon. Additionally, there is an increased chance of encountering a shiny Castform.
During this event, various Pokémon will appear more frequently, regardless of the weather:

- Castform (with forms depending on the weather)
- Drifloon
- Helioptile
- Amaura
Depending on the weather, specific Pokémon will also be more prevalent:

Players can also participate in raids featuring specific Pokémon throughout Weather Week. Expect to find:
- One Star: Poliwhirl, Gastly, Hippopotas, Amaura
- Three Star: Charizard, Lickitung, Drampa
- Five Star: Regice
- Mega: Mega Tyranitar
Finally, there will be opportunities to enter Weather Week-themed Pokémon in PokéStop Showcases throughout the event.
