Pokémon Go’s Sinnoh Tour adds creatures you’ll need for game-changing effects

Pokémon Go’s upcoming major in-game event will introduce two powerful new abilities that players must acquire special creatures to utilize.

The Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh will feature the debut of Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia, ancient versions of the Legendary Pokémon from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, as seen in 2022’s Pokémon Legends Arceus.

In line with their formidable nature and time-manipulating abilities, these Legendary creatures will introduce a new feature called Adventure Effects. These gameplay-altering abilities can be unlocked by interacting with the respective Pokémon and can be further enhanced using in-game resources.

Origin Forme Dialga will have an Adventure Effect called Roar of Time, allowing players to spend Dialga Candy and Stardust to pause the countdown of other in-game boosts, such as Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces, effectively extending their duration.

On the other hand, Origin Forme Palkia features the Adventure Effect Spacial Rend, which expands the range at which wild Pokémon appear on the map, resulting in more opportunities for Shiny checks without unnecessary detours.

This new feature adds an exciting dimension to the game, especially due to its thematic relevance to the Pokémon it is associated with. However, it is crucial to understand that not all Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia will possess these effects, and the type of event ticket purchased (either “Diamond” or “Pearl” versions) will influence your likelihood of obtaining one or the other.

Fans have pointed out that this adds an element of chance to raid battles, encouraging players to participate repeatedly for a chance at a Shiny version of the Pokémon or one with superior stats.

There is also ongoing discussion regarding the costs of the in-game resources required. Roar of Time demands 5,000 Stardust and 5 Dialga Candy for six minutes of usage, which can be extended in similar increments up to 24 hours. Conversely, Spacial Rend requires 5,000 Stardust and 5 Palkia Candy for ten minutes of usage.

The Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh is scheduled to occur globally in-game, following an in-person event in Los Angeles the week prior. This celebration of the Sinnoh/Hisui region will feature Shiny-boosted spawns of its Pokémon and increased chances of hatching region-locked creatures.

Fans are also eager to learn whether the God Pokémon, Arceus, will make its appearance during this event.
