Regrets of the Dire Wolf at 100% in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Activating Regrets of the Dire Wolf
This quest is part of the lighthouse storyline but can only be triggered by collecting one of the Dire Wolf statuettes. Any of these statuettes will initiate the mission.
Completing Regrets of the Dire Wolf
You can start this mission early on, but you won’t be able to finish it until you progress in the story, specifically after completing the “Shadows of Ruin” quest. To proceed, you need to gather all six Dire Wolf statuettes.
- One statuette is obtained after finishing the “Laboratories Beneath Our Feet” quest.
- Another is available upon completing “The Wolf’s Call.”
- You can get one more after finishing “Disturbance and Conquest.”
- Following “Shadows of Ruin,” you will receive another statuette.
The last two statuettes can be found in the Crossroads region. One is located near the Door of Lost Ages, and the other is at the end of the Door of the Faded Glory.
Once you have collected all six statuettes, a marker will appear at the lighthouse indicating where to place the first one. This will trigger a sequence followed by a conversation.
After placing the first statuette, you will face a decision:
- I understand Mythal.
- It’s normal for her to be upset.
Completing this part will earn you an achievement or trophy. This quest involves several altars, with sequences and discussions occurring after each placement.
Dialogue Choices and Decisions
- I don’t believe it. Yuck!
- Yes, obviously.
- Perhaps. Let’s move on.
You’ll also explore Solas’s feelings:
- Solas felt guilty.
- Solas was arrogant.
- Solas was worried.
- Tell us the story.
As you continue, you will be prompted to place the third statuette, followed by another conversation:
- Solas did what he could.
- Someone else is scared.
- That makes sense.
Then, another choice arises:
- I still believe in the Maker.
- Don’t let this affect you.
- It’s not our problem.
- It hurts me too.
- I feel your pain.
- Your lessons are important.
Moving on to the fourth altar will lead to another conversation:
- I think the same, Bellara.
- How interesting!
- Okay, is that useful?
- I don’t want to hurt anyone.
- No one would believe it.
- They have worse problems.
- They harmed the titans.
- What fools.
- This started the war.
After placing the fifth statuette, you will engage in yet another conversation:
- I’m sorry, Harding.
- How was he able to do that?
- Typical of him.
- It’s normal for him to feel guilty.
A decision will follow:
- Solas is a hypocrite.
- And the darkspawn?
- Can we fix the ruin?
Finally, place the sixth statuette to trigger the concluding conversation:
- She loved and blamed her.
- She needs to be right.
- Where does this lead us?
- She is wrong, but not bad.
- He’s clever, but we know him.
- For now, it works for us.
After finishing this discussion, you will return to the Crossroads to talk with a character, followed by another decision:
- Does this have to do with spirits?
- How would I know?
- Ancient elven magic?
- Your help would be appreciated.
- How complicated will this get?
- And you are… her.
Another decision will come, but it will be a single-response choice:
- Let’s move on.
- How do you get along with Solas?
- Why aren’t you an elf?
- Can you help with the gods?
- How did all this happen?
Another decision will arise:
- He’s trapped. I feel sorry for him.
- He’s a self-pitying monster.
- He’s trying to help.
- He’s divided but doesn’t know it.
- What do you think?
- Maybe this could end well.
- That’s not unsettling at all.
- I’ll be ready.
- Isn’t she an ally?
- If I survive such an encounter?
- I’m okay with that.
- Are there two Mythals?
You will have one final decision before continuing:
- I’ll see what I can do.
- Any suggestions?
- About the types of spirits.
- Could you talk to her?
Take the boat to the newly opened path. You will arrive at the Nest of the Ancients, a new area in the Crossroads. As you progress, you’ll find a document to your right. Approach the figure at the end to initiate the awaited conversation, starting with a decision. Be cautious, as the wrong choice could lead to facing a level 45 dragon:
- I want your help.
- You’re not going to help us.
Your response will lead to another choice:
- Solas is helping me.
- Forget it. We will fight.
- We need to stop the ruin.
- We must put a stop to them.
- We deserve it.
Then there’s yet another decision:
- Create a safe place.
- Kill monsters.
- I’m trying to be like you.
After that, you will revisit previous options:
- Solas is helping me.
- Forget it. We will fight.
- We need to stop the ruin.
- We must put a stop to them.
This will lead to another decision:
- The ruin is your fault.
- You faced him.
- People will die.
Once again, you’ll revisit the remaining decisions:
- Forget it. We will fight.
- We must put a stop to them.
- Solas is helping me.
Another decision will arise:
- Leave it aside?
- We don’t need gods.
- You were wronged.
Rewards
- Light of Mythal.
- Experience points.
- Points for the Veil Explorers.
