Shiny Mareep, evolution chart, 100% perfect IV stats and best Ampharos moveset in Pokémon Go
Mareep is the featured Pokémon for November’s Community Day Classic event in Pokémon Go. This event allows players to enjoy increased spawn rates and shiny chances, as well as the opportunity to obtain an exclusive move if they missed the original Mareep Community Day.
The Mareep Community Day revisits the early days of Pokémon Go, initially held in April 2018. If you missed that event or any subsequent chances to catch a Mareep with boosted shiny rates, this is an excellent opportunity to add a shiny Mareep to your collection. However, many players may already have one.
During this event, you may also encounter a Mareep with 100% perfect IV stats, which makes it essential to know Ampharos’s best moveset before participating.
Mareep’s 100% Perfect IV Stats in Pokémon Go
November’s Community Day Classic is a fantastic time to find a Mareep with perfect IV stats. For Mareep, the CP values that correspond to perfect 15/15/15 stats are:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 849 CP
- Level 35 (weather boosted CP maximum) – 920 CP
Mareep’s wild CP value aligns with your current Trainer Level until you reach Level 30. Most players are above this level, which is why these values are provided. If you are below Level 30, the values will differ.
‘Perfect’ in Pokémon Go can mean two things depending on your usage plans. First, there’s the maxed-out, 100% IV version, which is ideal for completing your Pokédex and for use in raids and the Master League. However, due to how CP is calculated using three stats, a perfect IV Pokémon is generally best utilized in the Master League.
If you intend to use Ampharos in the Great League or Ultra League, you should aim for these stats:
- A perfect Great League Ampharos has 0/13/11, with 1499 CP at Level 20.
- A perfect Ultra League Ampharos has 0/13/15, with 2497 CP at Level 36.
While Ampharos was once a strong contender in Raids, it has since been overshadowed by newer Pokémon. Currently, it is one of two Mega Electric Pokémon available, but it is the weaker of the two against pure Electric-type attackers. Mega Ampharos does gain Dragon-type attacks, making it a stronger overall attacker, but it should not be used as a Dragon-type Mega due to its limitations.
In PvP, Ampharos performs adequately in the Great League, but its lack of bulk can be a liability against the meta’s hardest hitters. While it may shine in the Great League, its fragility can be an issue, especially against tanky opponents.
Mareep Evolution Chart: What Does Mareep Evolve Into?
Mareep evolves into two forms: Flaaffy and then Ampharos. Mega-evolving Ampharos gives it a secondary Dragon-typing.
The Pokédex entries for these Pokémon are as follows:
- Mareep – ‘If static electricity builds in its body, its fleece doubles in volume. Touching it will shock you.’
- Flaaffy – ‘As a result of storing too much electricity, it developed patches where even downy wool won’t grow.’
- Ampharos – ‘The bright light on its tail can be seen far away. It has been treasured since ancient times as a beacon.’
During the Community Day Classic event, which runs from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, players will have ample opportunity to gather Mareep Candy. If you’re low on Mareep Candy, consider Mega Evolving an Electric-type Pokémon like Ampharos or Manectric, or using Pinap Berries to double your Candy yield.
Ampharos Moves and Best Moveset Recommendation in Pokémon Go
The best moves for Ampharos depend on the league you intend to use it in. Evolving Mareep during the Community Day Classic event will grant Ampharos the Legacy move Dragon Pulse, which is useful in Raids for high-damage output.
For Go Battle League, the recommended moveset varies:
- In the Great League, use Volt Switch, Thunder Punch, and Trailblaze.
- In the Ultra League, swap Thunder Punch for Brutal Swing.
Here’s a list of moves Ampharos can use in Pokémon Go:
Ampharos Fast Moves

- Volt Switch (Electric)
Ampharos Charged Moves
- Brutal Swing (Dark)
- Focus Blast (Fighting)

What Do Shiny Mareep, Flaaffy, and Ampharos Look Like in Pokémon Go?
Catching a shiny version of the highlighted Pokémon is one of the main attractions of any Community Day event, making Community Day Classics a prime opportunity to obtain shiny forms you may have missed in the past. The increased shiny rates during the event heighten your chances of encountering shinies.
To find a shiny Pokémon, you need to either start a catch encounter in the wild or earn it through activities like raids. Shiny Pokémon are identifiable by their unique coloration, along with sparkles when the encounter begins and shiny icons next to their names.
The shiny forms for Mareep’s evolution line were introduced in 2018 and have been available multiple times since. If you haven’t added them to your collection, take advantage of this event!
Shiny Mareep features a distinctive coloring, while shiny Flaaffy has a lighter skin tone and a green tail pom-pom. Shiny Ampharos’s skin color shifts entirely to purple, with the gems and tail pom-pom remaining blue.
