Star Wars Outlaws The Mechanic and how to find the Atmospheric Accelerator

As you progress through Star Wars Outlaws, you will have the chance to enhance Kay’s speeder in multiple ways. To unlock the Speed Boost feature, you must meet with Selo, also known as ‘The Mechanic’, and complete her expert mission.

This mission can be quite challenging, featuring various obstacles, including a maze of damaging fans. However, it is essential if you wish to travel faster using the speeder due to the Atmospheric Accelerator.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to locate the Atmospheric Accelerator in Star Wars Outlaws.

How to Start The Mechanic Mission

To initiate The Mechanic mission in Star Wars Outlaws, head to the Daruda Diner located in Jaunta’s Hope. You can either travel there using your speeder or utilize the fast travel point if you’ve activated it. Once inside the diner, speak to the bartender, who will suggest you talk to Selo Rovak, aka The Mechanic.

Since the bartender hasn’t seen Selo recently, they recommend heading to a windfishing settlement named Kadua to speak with her acquaintances. This location will be marked on your map.

Selo Rovak Location

Kadua is situated west of the Mirogana Valley. Upon arrival, you will notice two villagers conversing. You can talk to one of Selo’s friends to inquire about her whereabouts. He will direct you to a cliff northeast of Jaunta’s Hope.

When you reach the waypoint, you will find Selo’s shop, where she will be sitting outside by the cliff edge. Interact with Selo to request the upgrade for your speeder, and she will ask you to find a special part she needs for the upgrade: the Atmospheric Accelerator. She will provide you with magnetic disruptors that will be useful shortly.

Wind Harvester Location

The first task in The Mechanic mission is to locate the wind harvester. Fortunately, Selo has already marked this location on your map, which is just northwest of Jaunta’s Hope. Ride your speeder over to the mountainside.

Upon arrival, Selo will instruct you to place the magnetic disruptors she gave you earlier onto the console located on the left side of the fan. This action will halt the movement of the wind harvester, granting you access to enter.

Once inside, ride your speeder down the tunnel. You may encounter a blockage, but you can turn right into another branch of the tunnel that will take you to your destination.

How to Find the Atmospheric Accelerator

Now comes the tricky part. As you approach the entrance, go under the bridge in front of you instead of over it. Otherwise, the fan on the bridge will inflict damage. Once you are beneath the bridge, you will find an energy barrier that needs to be deactivated.

Send Nix to disable the energy barrier, as he can utilize the vent system located to the right of it. After the barrier is turned off, proceed inside and enter the large vent system.

Next, you’ll need to climb a ladder which leads to a tunnel filled with fans. Carefully cross the bridge to the first two large fans. Be patient here, as the fans will turn on and off, requiring you to time your movements effectively. Move past the fans when they are off to avoid injury.

Once you pass the fans, you’ll drop down onto a platform where another fan is consistently operational. To disable it, shoot the node on the left-hand side. This will allow you to pass through safely.

After that, you will need to climb the grate system on the wall. As you leap across each grate, be ready to stop at the large fan and wait for it to turn off. Once it does, cross past it quickly.

Following this, you will come across a tunnel with a significant hole in the top. Drop into the tunnel and navigate through the pipe until you find a gap in the walls.

Once through the gap, you’ll enter a larger tunnel area with more fans. Blocking your path are two large structures that move in and out of the wall. When they retract into the wall, run past quickly.

Then, navigate the yellow grate structure to ascend the wall. Once you reach the top, jump onto another fan and then climb up to the one above it. Timing is crucial; otherwise, you will be blown off the wall.

Next, you will arrive at a tunnel with a container. Override the lock and gather the loot inside.

Right outside the tunnel, you will need to shoot two shining nodes on either side of an active fan to disable it. Afterward, use your grapple to swing past it and proceed to the next area.

Continue navigating up a yellow bar and leap across a fan, then climb onto the grate above it. Ascend further using the bars and grates until you drop down onto another platform.

More structures that shoot out from the wall will block your path. Wait for them to retract before running past and continue climbing up the yellow grate. When prompted, jump upwards using the yellow bars and platform ledges.

Once at the top, you will need to use the structures that shoot out from the wall to jump across. Time your jumps accurately to avoid being shot off. As soon as an opportunity arises, jump quickly the entire way.

Utilize more yellow bars and navigate across the fans when they are turned off. At the end of these obstacles, the bars will lead you upwards to another vent system.

Enter the vent system, and at the end of the tunnel, climb up the ladder. This will lead you into an office where you can do a bit of looting before extracting the Atmospheric Accelerator from the terminal when prompted. Congratulations, you have obtained it!

To escape the wind harvester, exit the office through the door on the left of the terminal and use your grapple on the highlighted points to swing to the large fan on the opposite wall.

Once you arrive, your Speeder will be waiting for you. Ride it through the deactivated fans and down a long tunnel to exit the wind harvester system.

Finally, return to Selo’s shop and show her the Atmospheric Accelerator. This will complete the mission and unlock the Speed Boost ability for your Speeder, enabling short bursts of speed.

Congratulations on completing The Mechanic expert mission! If you require further assistance navigating the galaxy and upgrading your Speeder, consider exploring guides on obtaining other upgrades and increasing your reputation with various factions.
