The cave gap in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

The cave gap is a significant quest within The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This mission becomes active in your journal during the course of another quest known as The desert gap. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the objectives and steps needed to complete it successfully, ensuring you don’t get stuck along the way.

How to Complete the Cave Gap Mission

To begin this mission, your first task is to enter the cave of ancestors, located slightly northwest of the desert oasis. Inside the cave, you’ll encounter a Gerudo who mentions that the torches have gone out near the tomb due to the gap present in the cave. You will need to navigate to this location, but be prepared to take a small detour.

Start by linking to the large heavy rock on the left and move it aside to find an opening that leads into a room filled with mole enemies known as Talpidos.

Defeat the enemies and memorize one using your scepter, then move another large rock out of the way to descend via a ladder into a 2D section of the cave.

In this new area, you’ll find sandy ground where you can dig a deep hole using a copy of a Talpido. Summon the mole and descend through its hole to reach the lower part of the room. Afterward, climb the ladder on the right to arrive at the tomb where the torches are extinguished. Here, you’ll need to use a flame Zol to light them.

Once you have lit both torches, the mission will be marked as complete. This simple yet engaging quest is a great example of the clever puzzles and challenges found throughout the game, providing players with both adventure and problem-solving opportunities.
