The dragon and the Dire Wolf at 100% in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The Dragon and the Dire Wolf serves as the thirty-seventh mission within the narrative of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This quest unlocks after you finish the preceding mission called One Cage for Gods. This guide will offer essential tips for effectively navigating each part of the mission, along with insights into collectibles, side quests, and the choices we’ve made throughout the storyline.
Take the opportunity to interact with your companions while preparing for this mission; these conversations will not impact your progress. To advance, you need to engage with the kitchen table. If you have achieved level 3 with the factions, you will see how the seven come forward to help (excluding the Shadow Dragons, who are already present).
For those familiar with the Mass Effect series, this mission resembles the initiation of the Suicide Mission. For new players, it emphasizes that poor choices can lead to character deaths. If you want all characters to survive (excluding the companion who has already died—it’s impossible to keep both Davrin and Harding alive, as one must fall), ensure you select the following options:
- Choose someone experienced in handling magical protections or defending others, such as Emmrich (depending on who accompanies you, Neve or Bellara may also be suitable).
- Opt for a character with experience against mages or in surprise attacks: Lucanis is a fitting choice.
- Select a companion who is adept at dealing with large enemies or automatons; Harding is the best option, although Taash can also be effective.
After you confirm the assignments, you will see immediate results: none of your companions will die during the execution of the plan, nor will any faction leaders be lost. Following this, you will move on to The Final Play.
