The mystery of the breaches in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

The Mystery of the Breaches is officially the first main mission in the story of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which begins during your escape from Hyrule Castle. After overcoming that section and awakening on the Sudelia Beach, you can start this mission in the outside world. In this guide, we will show you how to complete it.

How to Complete the Mystery of the Breaches Mission

As soon as you wake up on the beach, you can memorize the stone replica. This will be essential for defeating your first enemy, a Zol, a green creature that jumps toward you. You can throw the stone on it to defeat it (and memorize it as well).

After this, head east where you will encounter some spiked enemies. You can again throw stones on them to defeat them. Continue towards the southeast water area (don’t forget to collect the heart piece #01 on a rock in this location) and use bed copies to climb to the higher rocks.

From there, you will see a broken bridge. No worries, use more beds to cross over and climb up to the entrance of a cave protected by more spiked enemies. Eliminate them and enter the “Beach Cave”.

Inside this cave, you will immediately encounter a keese, a bat-like enemy. Defeat it with a stone and memorize it. Proceed further until you find the heart piece #02 and a climbable rock wall leading up to exit the cave on the other side.

Once back outside, walk a bit further until you find the entrance to the Sudelia Village. Here you have several characters to talk to, some new replicas, and a shop selling a heart piece #03.

In any case, you need to exit the village to the right and continue along the road heading east towards the Forest of Sudelia. Here you will find your first fast travel point – for quick trips when needed – and again, along this path, there will be various optional caves to visit (one contains the fairy bottle #01 and another the heart piece #04), along with some chests with rupees and new enemies to memorize (it’s recommended not to miss the Moblin with spear and the Peahat, as they are quite useful).

Eventually, along this forest path, you can reach the target area marked on your map. However, upon arrival, you will find that it is a house that is inaccessible due to a breach. Your only option is to take the opposite path heading east towards the Ruins of Sudelia.

Following this direction, which is straightforward, you will encounter another large breach that Tri wants to enter. Follow him to access the area “Void of the Sudelia Forest”.

The path you follow now is simple. Jump across floating platforms and trees until you enter a cave. Inside, there is a closed door in front of you. You need to move to the right, creating bed copies to press a button on the ground that will open the door.

Proceed to the next room. You will be ambushed by several enemies. If you have already obtained the replica of Peahat, defeating them will be quite easy. After doing so, another closed door will open. Exit through it to the outside.

In the vicinity, you can find a couple of chests with rupees if you explore a bit, but what we are interested in is heading to the northwest corner, where you will find an NPC turned to stone and further along the entrance to the first dungeon of the game:

  • Dungeon – Ruins of Sudelia

After the Dungeon

After you complete the dungeon and return outside to the Forest of Sudelia, you will need to follow a character to Luebery’s house (the house that was previously inaccessible due to the breach in the forest). There’s no way to get lost.

In Luebery’s house, you will receive new directions and the next main mission, After the Vanished, which has two different objectives to tackle as you prefer (as now you can head to either the Jabul Marshlands or the Gerudo Desert, along with many other locations in the world).
