The soul of a city at 100% in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

In the realm of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players engage in a captivating journey filled with intricate missions and rich storytelling. One notable quest is The Soul of a City, which not only enhances the narrative but also presents players with intriguing challenges and valuable rewards.

How to Start The Soul of a City

This quest unlocks after you finish Las Palabras del Lobo. After completing that task, proceed to the lighthouse meeting room where you will discover two markers. Interact with the one on the left to obtain a document that starts the quest.

How to Complete The Soul of a City

Your next destination is Port City, specifically the base of the Dragons, where you must speak with a key character who will assist you in advancing your quest.

  • “It’s good to see you again.”
  • “Why can’t they be here?”
  • “The Venatori again? – We chose this option.”

After your dialogue, make your way to the Cobbled Swan marker. Be cautious not to confuse it with the main marker at the door; the one you need is located inside the tavern. Here, investigate the points of interest in the reserved section, including a note on a table.

Once you have gathered the necessary information, engage with your contact to officially commence the quest. You will need to navigate through the Purifier area, battling Venatori along the way. Ensure you open the chest that requires a Breakers tool, which can be found on the wooden scaffolding prior to reaching the red barrier.

As you continue, there will be a door on your right where you will encounter a Venatori, a small chest, and the memory “The Silent Toad”.

Continuing Your Journey

Utilize the minimap to explore side paths for minor items. Eventually, you’ll face Lenos, a soldier equipped with armor, sword, and shield, who is susceptible to ice attacks and may call for reinforcements. After defeating Lenos, go through the door to reach a storage area filled with a small chest, the memory “Scroll of Eternal Victory”, along with boxes, notes, and another chest that contains a Fragment of Embers. Once you’ve reviewed all the notes, speak with a team member to return to the city and finish the mission.

  • “I will appreciate all the hope – We selected this option.”
  • “I foresee a plan.”
  • “It’s too soon to say.”

On your way back, you will encounter a Single Response Decision, which may differ based on your character’s background.

  • “I cannot choose an Archon.”
  • “What kind of exchange? – This option adds context without advancing the conversation.”
  • “Dorian’s strategy… – This option adds context without advancing the conversation.”
  • “Maevaris’s approach… – This option adds context without advancing the conversation.”
  • “Aren’t you on the same side? – This option adds context without advancing the conversation.”

Afterward, engage in conversation with Neve.

  • “You have a right to your opinion.”
  • “You are the detective – We chose this option.”
  • “I’m just making sure.”

Next, you must converse with Tarquin and the Viper.

  • “I wish it weren’t so.”
  • “The city is better – We chose this option.”
  • “They deserved it.”
  • “What is best for Tevinter?”
  • “And you want my opinion.”
  • “We need to make a decision – We chose this option.”
  • “Will you support whoever it is? – We chose this option.”
  • “What if we choose wrong?”
  • “What you say doesn’t help.”
  • “What will happen? – This option adds context without advancing the conversation.”

At this stage, you will need to select an Archon. In our scenario, we chose Maevaris based on Neve’s advice, but ultimately, the decision is yours. Keep in mind that there are no wrong choices, only different narrative paths.
