There’s no sign of Arceus yet in Pokémon Go’s Sinnoh Tour

Pokémon Go’s highly anticipated fourth annual Tour event is set to take place in February 2024, featuring a global in-game version scheduled for the 24th and 25th. In addition, players can look forward to an in-person option in Los Angeles on the 17th and 18th of February.

This year’s Tour will spotlight the Sinnoh region, specifically drawing from the iconic Pokémon found in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. These events usually include a variety of Pokémon that fans have grown to love from the main series games.

The Sinnoh region, along with its ancient counterpart known as Hisui, was recently highlighted in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This theme will carry over into the upcoming in-game season, Timeless Travels, culminating in February’s Tour event.

However, unlike previous iterations of the Tour, this event will not complete the Sinnoh Pokédex, nor will it introduce all Shiny versions of the Pokémon in this region. Notably missing from the lineup are the Mythical Pokémon Phione and Manaphy, as well as Arceus, the revered Pokémon deity.

Fans of Pokémon Go have been particularly curious about how the game will eventually incorporate Arceus, known for being one of the most powerful creatures in the Pokémon universe. In earlier discussions, a representative from Pokémon Go mentioned the importance of making the release of such a highly anticipated Pokémon an epic experience. The gradual buildup of excitement surrounding Pokémon, similar to the introduction of Kecleon, was emphasized as a key approach.

As of now, it’s uncertain if Arceus will make a surprise appearance during the Tour event. Nevertheless, players can look forward to the debut of Shiny Shaymin, two new Pikachus donning hats, and the chance to find Shiny-possible regional Pokémon such as Pachirisu, Chatot, and Carnivine in 10km eggs.

The event will also feature a Special Research story involving Team Rocket leaders Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff, providing additional challenges and excitement for players participating in this year’s Tour.
