Trubbish 100% perfect IV stats, shiny Garbodor in Pokémon Go
This week’s Spotlight Hour in Pokémon Go is centered around the Trash Bag Pokémon, Trubbish. If you’re familiar with the character Frank from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” you might find yourself chuckling at the connection, but if you’re over 16 and not thinking about Frank, we can’t help you!
Now is the perfect time to hunt down a flawless Trubbish. However, it’s worth noting that Trubbish and its evolution, Garbodor, are generally considered less than stellar in terms of competitive play. Players often find them challenging to catch, as they tend to appear further away on the screen than expected.
This week, the bonus during Spotlight Hour is Double Catch XP. So, put your phones down for a moment and enjoy the hunt for this Pokémon!
Trubbish 100% Perfect IV Stats in Pokémon Go
This Spotlight Hour provides a fantastic opportunity to catch a Trubbish with perfect IV stats.
In Pokémon Go, ‘perfect’ can mean two things based on your intended use for the Pokémon. The first is the maxed-out 100% IV version, which consists of the stats 15/15/15. This is ideal for your Pokédex, raids, and the Master League. However, keep in mind that a perfect IV Pokémon usually only shines in the Master League due to how CP is calculated using three different stats.
While you can’t see a Pokémon’s IVs until you catch it, you can estimate a perfect Trubbish’s IV based on its CP. If you’re at Level 30 (or above), you should look for these CP values for a perfect 15/15/15 Trubbish:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 857 CP
- Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 929 CP
These wild CP values correspond with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30. As many players are above this level, we’ve focused on these values for simplicity. If you’re below Level 30, the values will differ.
Shiny Trubbish and Garbodor in Pokémon Go
Yes! Shiny Trubbish, along with shiny Garbodor, was introduced during the Sustainability Week event in April 2021.
It’s essential to remember that Spotlight Hours typically do not have a boosted shiny rate. The chances of encountering a shiny are the same as finding one in the wild, but the increased spawns during the event give you more opportunities.
Shiny Trubbish swaps its green outfit for a dark blue, and its body changes to a gunky yellow instead of the usual brown. Shiny Garbodor transforms its dark green bag into a fluorescent aquamarine and recolors its spots from pink to orange and dark green to light green.
Is Garbodor Good in PvP?
Unfortunately, Garbodor is often deemed subpar. Its stats and moveset are not very impressive, making it a less favorable choice for competitive play. While Trubbish has a certain charm, Garbodor’s design—seemingly wearing the remnants of its trash bag—doesn’t quite resonate with players.
In terms of moves, Garbodor utilizes the same attacks across all leagues: Infestation (Fast), Body Slam (Charged), and Seed Bomb (Charged). Despite having a spammy moveset, it struggles against most relevant Pokémon in Ultra and Master Leagues, making it a less desirable choice overall.
Other Tips for This Spotlight Hour
If you’re aiming to catch a shiny Trubbish, there are several other reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight Hour:
- The double catch XP bonus is a significant incentive. Focus on making Excellent Throws to maximize this bonus! It’s advised to wait until the Spotlight Hour starts before catching your first Pokémon of the day for additional XP.
- This bonus can be combined with a Lucky Egg, which doubles the XP earned for all activities in Pokémon Go.
- If you’re new to the game, this Spotlight Hour is a perfect opportunity to gather enough Trubbish candy to evolve your Pokémon into Garbodor.
- Since Trubbish is a Poison-type Pokémon, catching multiple during this hour contributes to your respective catch bonus medal progress.
Remember that Spotlight Hour events last for just one hour, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time. Good luck hunting for that perfect Trubbish!
