Where to Find the Katana in The Forest

Obtaining the katana should be one of your first goals upon arriving on the island. Its power against various foes can prove invaluable in numerous scenarios.

To locate the katana, you must venture into the cave marked on your map. Thankfully, during your journey through this cave, you won’t face any enemies in the initial area, as the cave is split into different sections.

It’s wise to bring a light source with you, as the cave is quite dark and deep. Ideally, you should take the flashlight, but if you prefer, torches are also a viable option.

Once you enter the cave, you’ll encounter various supplies to add to your inventory, which can always be beneficial. A few meters in, you will find a yellow rope that you’ll need to climb. After this point, the paths begin to split.

You should opt for the left path since the right leads to a mutant encounter, which can be quite perilous if you’re not adequately prepared. Continue following the wooden planks on the ground and take the right path, navigating through some narrow passages that should be manageable.

Keep going straight until you see strings hanging from the ceiling with what seem to be fingers attached—this signals that you’re nearing your goal. There, you’ll find a small refuge where, in addition to more supplies, you’ll finally discover the Katana embedded in one of the bodies.
